The ''no one is coming'' Transfer Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

If Wenger doesn't get his finger and cheque book out, this season could be a lot more painful than usual, with the rumours of Ozil and Sanchez not being happy, BFG making comments like those and the general malaise that currently surrounds the club i really don't think the fans will be anywhere near as accepting as last season, as Per said we were incredibly lucky to finish second last season and even the most deluded Arsenal fan has to admit that.

Even with the predicted collapse of the spuds none of us could have foreseen the total incompetence of the other top teams in the PL last season just as none of us could have predicted Leicester running away with it, i fully expect normal programming to resume this year.

The next 2 weeks are crucial for Wenger because as Augie said, by the start of the season all the best buys will be gone and the only options will be journeyman players, paying through the absolute nose for bench warmers at the top clubs or AW's favourite 'ones for the future'. :cussing:

Maybe he is so cunning that he buys Mahrez from Chelsea after mid August... I bet no one saw that move coming. :barscarf:

Holding is this year's Chambers. Give it two years of being loaned out and the lad will be sold to a championship side.

I wonder how much we invest in youth, just to see them all leave one by one. Only saving grace hardly any of them go on to better things. :D :D

What's with the physique thing, most of our players are smaller than Mahrez especially in midfield.
the mightly celtic who got beat by part timers?

michu, ricketts, stewart.

it wont mean no walcott it will mean walcott playing though the middle or mahrez being played in completley the wrong position.

if wenger wont sign a proper striker, and if he signs mahrez he wont, then id rather he didnt do anything as hes wasting another season and cash, id rather he continues make his bed. mahrez will be a just enough signing.

mahrez and xhaka will make flipfloppers happy but it again fails to address our needs and i will not consider the window a success

And those "one season wonders" (Kante, Mahrez, Vardy) did the one thing that Arsenal haven't done for 12 years - won the bloody league!
One season wonder ( Mahrez possibly) V Ten seasons of potential ( Theo definitely) mmmm hard choice!!!
Could it not be argued that Ramsey has been a one season wonder for us?
no it couldnt as hes not had one good season, hes had about a 3rd of a good season

"The Arsenal way", I believe (overall) it's called :barscarf:

Tick Tock, Tick Tock...still no signings of consequence.

Can't say I'm surprised anymore.

Social Media is a very dangerous thing.

You would think gooners would be wary of anticipating transfers happening, but ohhh no not this geezer:

I can't imagine the stick he will get if Mahrez goes the Chelsea.

Perhaps it's just a bit of self promotion. Or he really is a perfect example of the kind of mugs that inhabit the Arsenal world these days.
