As much as it irritates me, reading some of our ex players defending wanker, I can understand why, because of the success they had under him. The part that bugs me is, they have zero understanding for why the fans want him gone, and in Keown's case, even go as far as to say "He has earned the right to decide when he leaves". Also, would Keown have accepted some of the farcical things that have happened, in the past decade. Being humiliated constantly in big games, and suffering embarrassing results like 8-2, 6-0 etc. Losing a cup final to a Birmingham team, who ended up relegated, the same season. Watching the manager throw away numerous titles, due to his refusal to improve the team, no matter how obvious it is. If players like Keown, Henry etc. can offer actual explanations as to the constant fuck ups from the past decade, then I might take them seriously, but until then, they are just acting as PR men for wanker, and making fans lose respect for them.xisstential wrote:Keown again, answering his weekly questions with his weekly bullshit.
My Sportsmail colleague Jamie Carragher says that if Arsene Wenger wants to leave after next season he should announce that before the season starts. That could be his course of action but it may not be conducive for players like Sanchez and Ozil who may be looking at signing new deals.
A lot of the fans no longer want Wenger but I’m sure the players would have a different view
Oh I'm sure they would Martin because a different manager might actually demand a return from them for their obscene wages

Why doesn't Keown fuck off into oblivion? Our ex players turned pundit are the very worst among the AKB cult. A set of bloody wind ups. How the fuck do they keep a straight face on television whilst spouting such disingenuous horsemanure?

A real trench warrior as a player, a vanilla dickhead as a pundit.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
I can't fucking stand that: 'Earned the right to leave when he wants', bollox. Why? Had he won ten titles, a European Cup and various other cups and then had one bad season, I could just about understand. However, 3 titles in 20 years and nothing in Europe is frankly not enough to laud him as a genius. Surely, after paying the highest prices in the world for a decade or more and putting up with shit performances, our best players leaving, annual collapses, fuck all in the transfer market and regular condescension from the manager, we have earned the right to want him gone?
Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Fuck our 'attractive' sideways football
For such a pragmatist, TOF is the total opposite when it comes to our suicidal defending and shite finshing
It's laughable that he claims that the Manure/Swansea games were the turning point. Our results have gone off a cliff since Anfield in January, FFS!
It's so disappointing that Keown is AKB #1

This ''earned the right'' bollocks goes completely against how sport works. Especially top level sport. Thats where big money is involved and with that comes a demand for high performance. Except at Arsenal.
Wenger is being paid now for the job he is doing now, not the one he did in the past. Fans are paying new money to see new achievements.
In an individual sport a sportsman can continue as long as he wants but knows if he sticks around too long he will only damage himself and his own reputation. In a team sport you are letting down your colleagues and the thousands of people who give up their time and money to follow you. Something the likes of Keown do not do funnily enough.
Its an absolute disgrace that Wenger is still here in 2016 having not made one slightest bit of progress in over a decade.

I find Atletico Madrid far more attractive to watch than Wenger's recent teams. Nothing beats passion, desire and organisation combined with talent. Technique on its own is tedious.Sean wrote:Fuck our 'attractive' sideways football![]()

As for the real turning point ... the moment we knew we wouldnt be champions in May 2016 is when Wenger signed a new 3 year deal in the summer of 2014

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
In my opinion the turning point was not buying an outfield player in the summer despite everyone saying he should (probably why he didn't )
Going into the season with Giroud , Walcott and Wellbeck we was never going to win the premiership

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Yes, absolutely. I would go as far as saying that it bordered on gross negligence. Think about the deflating effect it had on the other players too, think how Ozil, Sanchez, Cech must have felt as the window closed and they looked around at the average squad they were now a part of. It's all been said before, but just one big signing up front last summer would have raised morale and changed the whole complexion of the squad. Wanker, yet again fucked things up and the lack of ambition or motivation had a direct impact on the team. Ozil apparently called him out on it in training and the players must have known in the hearts that they weren't going to win the league. All of last season's predictions about us being title challengers were made on the premise of us buying a world class striker. It was so fucking obvious that the only thing which could have stopped us getting one, was Wanker's incompetence.Redarmy wrote:In my opinion the turning point was not buying an outfield player in the summer despite everyone saying he should (probably why he didn't )

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
I watched the Atletico game last night, not for the first time in awe of their workrate, how they draw the opposition in and then swarm the man in possession and break at breathtaking pace. Sure they rode their luck on occassions but their defensive record speaks for itself.
If we played like that I'd have no complaints!
The interminable sideways passing with no end product style championed by Wenger is beyond monotonous after the best part of a decade. How anyone can claim it is attractive is absurd. Sure sometimes it clicks like against Leicester away & Man Utd at home, but there has certainly been no evidence of it since the turn of the year.
We often played lightning quick counter attacking football in Wengers heyday ie 2002-04 and it was glorious. After years and years of no plan B I just cannot see how he wouldn't think to change things up and go back to an older, proven formula!

I truly detest the way all the old heroes come out in his defence....surely they can see the clueless despot delusionaltwatcunt is past it...
He's a senile cunnt.
And any of the past players who still support him like keown is doing - Can also go fuckk themselves up the sphincter with an electric cattle prod on full charge.

2004 - He becomes untouchable with the Invincibles.
2006 - We reach our only CL final. If only we had won it; TOF may not have stayed so long. He's still chasing that dream.
2007 - Dein's sacking gives him ultimate power at the club.
2008 - Bottles the title and embarks fully on the failed Project Youth. Groundhog seasons begin.
2011 - Kroenke takes over. We criminally bottle the title and League Cup again and he should have been sacked. Then the 8-2.
2014 - We finally end the trophy drought, but TOF refuses to leave on a high and continues the purgatory.
Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Ray Parlour "‘He’s done well, Olivier Giroud, but is he good enough for the Champions League and Premier League?"
Why mince words? Giroud has been shit. Harry Kane has scored twice as many goals (24 to Giroud's 12). He has gone the entire second half of the season only scoring on one match - back in January against Liverpool. Odion Ighalo and Jermain Defoe have scored more. Giroud is the only Arsenal striker in the past 30 years to never have scored more than 20 league goals in a season. Alan Smith, Ian Wright, Thierry Henry, Adebayor, RVP - they all did it. Whilst Giroud will lumber into his 5th season at the club, having been the worst striker ability and goal wise, to play for the club in 30 years. And when I say 30 years, its because I only looked back 30 years. Who fuking knows, maybe its 40 or 50 years.
I thought we were settling for above average with Adebayor. But F, give me Adebayor any day over the genuinely average Giroud.

I think there's no point being disappointed in the comments of ex pros who defend Wenger, there has to be a lot of sentimentality there and it's second nature.
I've got a lot of time for Keown, Henry the lot of them, they just happen to be wrong on the manager. Wenger Out!
