THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Got a feeling Wenker will now try and go out and buy big.........he knows he is vulnerable and from his point of view sees this option as a way of getting fickle fans back onboard.....will wait and see on that one

Of course its second guessing but just don't think he will go easily his ego will not allow it (and lack of £8million a year of course)

Also will the board allow him to spend say £80 million knowing its his last year of contract?

I've got a lot of time for Keown, Henry the lot of them, they just happen to be wrong on the manager. Wenger Out!
I'm sorry I'm not buying that. If your child keeps getting into trouble or starts flunking every class do you just ignore it and keep looking back to the years when they were doing great?? No, you face up to it, deal with it, call it for what it is. This sentimentality crap and defending the indefensible is making them look as foolish as Wenger himself. Keown is the worst of the lot with his dismissive "Wenger has earned......" And constantly referring to Wenger as "The great man." It's embarrassing TBH.... imagine what Ferguson should be called then.... Lord & Master perhaps?? Fergie won the treble ffs, that is a standout achievement on it's own never mind the slew of other titles he won.

Yep, same here !

I got one of those e-mails too and it told me that they would get their editor to contact me if I was willing to write for them
To be honest I thought that it was a piss take from some of our mods (am thinking mainly db10, spuddy and flash) trying to get back at me for posting on their locked thread
Fucks sake I assumed I was the only one - I've quit my job and everything and that prick editor hasn't responded to my emails!!!

Wenger has just commented on the protests at his morning press conference

"You have to remember when we built the stadium we had five to seven difficult financial years"

yeah ok I understand that so what about the last 3-5 years??? :rubchin:

oh dear levels of embarrassing comments just hit a new low
"We lost the championship at home against lower teams but we played at home in a very difficult climate. We are top of the league in the top teams, we want to add what is needed.”

I mean what the actual fuck does that mean???

does he mean it was a bit cold when we lost games in January and February or does he mean the team couldnt handle the pressure?
and what is this new virtual trophy that we have won? top of the league of top teams?? what because we beat Leicester?

And we know that's bollocks as The Old Fraud had a £30M a season transfer budget ring-fenced from the Cashburton repayments, plus all the net spend profits all though those barren years. The austerity was a lie used to justify his insane Project Youth failure :banghead:

No fucking excuses. He should have won the title in 2008, 2010 and 2011 with the resources available. His failures there should have meant he was sacked by then. Now we've bottled the 2014 and 2016 titles. He really is a Specialist in Failure.

Five years later and he's still here :suicide:

"We are top of the league in the top teams". What the hell is that??!! A secret mini-league within the PL??!

There HAS to be a trophy for that surely? :barscarf:

I'm just waiting him to come out with;

"We finished top of all PL teams that begin with the letter 'A'." :suicide:

funniest part of this mornings press conference is that Wenger has blamed Piers Morgan for stirring up the fans :D
he has gone into total meltdown on twitter over it

Wow...total madness in his ramblings.....

“We have to realise that, away from home, we are championship winners. At home, against the smaller teams, we lost the league.

fucking hell, this convinces me he is not going to walk away and will have to be forced out...forget about the polite "thanks for the memories"

Whole protest needs ramping up...make it hostile
