Stuart was a good poster ,and as Retro said the constant pessimism probably put him off here.

I only post the odd rumours on here  I wouldn't be as good with words as most on here,so I only tend to make short posts, but have to admit there was times I thought about taking a break off here, due to the constant moaning and whinging, Now b4 I get attacked  I'm as frustrated as anyone else on here, and I'm a nightmare to deal with when we lose and obviously get angry with players and arteta like everyone else.

I've often thought about some young person deciding to follow a club ,and decides to check out various forums to get an idea of who to follow, and he checks in on this forum, if I was tht young person I'd think jesus these guys hate Arsenal i think ill follow another club

To sum up alot of stuff said on here i actually use when chatting about Arsenal to guys at work or in the pub ,they think im a footballing genius 8)

BTW I dont know how most of ye have the time to write long posts :rubchin:

PS Down with fucking quote towers

Jesus that's after taking alot out of me,ill have to go back to my beer now

I have to admit, the general pessimism and negative posts on here get me down too.

As for you Mc, you can't fuck off from the forum....I mean, where would we get all the bullshit rumours...errr, I mean factual news items from??

I know what you mean Retro... Although I have been Critical and continue to do & be so, it is usually down to 'Frustration' . (Ooo err missis  ). over what I see as Obvious Mistakes and Decisions and a huge dollop of Arrogance.

And whilst I have tried to be "Patient and Positive" and See, Enjoy & Celebrate the Good Stuff, I also cannot Ignore the ongoing same mistakes that I am witnessing from season to season.

We have some truly Excellent Players, but the way they are being used by Arteta in how his Tactics & Systems operate just prevents them from being as Good as we all know they could be.

Bit by bit Arteta is (sadly) morphing into a younger version of TOF at his worst; when he went into a total tailspin of Delusion and Self-destruction, and unfortunately took the Club, team and fans down with him. We still haven't recovered from that!

Arteta has been given the kind of Financial Backing other managers can only dream of, so this for me is Make or Break Time, so if he Fucks-up this season, there can be no excuses, no forgiving, no special circumstances etc etc.

I would LOVE to be proven Wrong and for us (under his Guidance) to Win Everything; though for now I'd settle for just the Prem Title.

Times a Ticking Eh! :anyminute:

Yes Stuart was a good poster....no one really jumped on his posts because they all made sense...but eventually got dragged down in the end...shame

What about Herd ....he has disappeared...came out with some great memories....and no bullshit...the guy was 100% Arsenal
saw him at the scum a quite a few years ago helping fellow gooners not to get involved despite massive provocation

To be honest OBG, I was being ironic about the pessimism getting me down, because I'm right up there with the worst of the negative posters, but I agree with your post.

Arsenal fans have been very patient, but that patience has not been rewarded and if anything, it's been abused and taken advantage of by the club.

That said, the owners, who I've been highly critical of, have backed Arteta with time and a ton of money and as you say, it's time for him to deliver. Failure this season and he has to go.

I have always lived by the mantra that everyone is entitled to express their opinions whether I like/agree with them or not, BUT it always amuses me that people get more frustrated/angry at the posts of people they have never met on an internet forum that is costing them nothing, than they do watching a manager/players/board failings that is sabotaging a club that continues to cost us real money (be it in match tickets, merchandise, tv subscriptions etc) :? :? The club is what we all love and what we all want to see winning, so how can the ramblings of a faceless person piss you off more than watching havertz missing sitters, or watching captain invisible go missing again ? The same people that get irate on here are the one's who wouldnt dare to say a bad word about a player or manager at the game - can someone explain the logic of that to me cos I dont understand it ? :? Giving me or someone else on here abuse wont turn this or any AFC team into winners, but maybe giving some stick to those that can influence whether the team wins or not might shake them and/or the club up a bit ? :rubchin:

Failure this season and he has to go.

Depends where you put the yardstick.
Most clubs would be ecstatic with 3 times runners up and champions league semi final .
The fact that expectation drives supporters makes us an easy target for all the fans of other clubs .
Throughout history we have always been the subject of jealous animosity , I can remember my grandfather telling me of the constant backbiting about the club when I was a kid about 70 years ago.
Of course we want more , everyone does , our history is one of feast and famine . It would be nice to get the Big Ears in my lifetime but at the moment I would settle for another league and cup double.

Don't want much , do I ?

Everyone can be negative about us from time to time, we all mostly are.

It's often recent seasons despite improvement which was always going to happen club Arsenal's size 8th placed league finishes despite a big wage bill and decent investment to now, not quite good enough despite lots of money spent but on some players bought at overinflated prices and or not good enough or in positions not required. Vanity projects like Havertz now Madueke.

Arteta has been given what every manager wants at a top club money, time and backing. We have a 9 but still lack creativity and a left sided danger.
Madueke 52m I hope he proves us all wrong, hope being the word

If he doesn't produce a trophy this season time to go. No excuses, style of play also doesn't help 22/3, 23/4 we were good to watch last season terrible style play, we have become so risk averse in attack that's MA call and if it's the shield he chooses to die on so be it.

About three weeks ago, hadn't he already joined the chavs, according to certain individuals?

Absolutely John. I've said many times that it was this place that kept me going during the dark Wenger years. The gallows humour is fantastic when things are going wrong and this place lights up.

Is that the same geezer who said we'll be in a relegation battle next season? Epic banter.

I've said before augie that people seem to conflate criticism and predicting what's likely to go wrong, with those things actually going wrong. As though seeing the flaws somehow makes you responsible for the flaws when they manifest themselves. Some on here get seriously angry about it. It's very peculiar.

I think it comes from being unable to remove the red and white spectacles and view things objectively....an inability to countenance any criticism of the club and to denounce critics as disloyal. It requires a significant degree of self delusion, but I think deep down they know and if someone highlights the flaws and makes those people face them, they get angry. It's like being a religious fanatic and unable to accept rational questioning.

I could make a very sound argument that they are actually the disloyal supporters, because they're prepared to accept second best, while some of us are desperate to be winners, which is why the flaws and weaknesses piss us off.

It depends where you see the club in the rankings. Would Real Madrid, Barcelona, B. Munich, Liverpool, Chelsea, City, even Utd be ecstatic with those results? At every one of those clubs, Arteta would be long gone and before anyone tries to condemn the hire and fire tactics of RM, the Chavs, even Barca and Bayern, take a look at what they've won in the last 20 years compared to us. Bottom line is about winning trophies.

Sure, plenty of 2nd and 3rd tier teams would be happy with those results, but not the clubs we claim to aspire to compete with.

For a club like Arsenal, or at least how I see the club, accepting being runners-up and semi-finalists is a losers mentality.
