I didn't know he has passed.

Watched the DVD box set, then bought & read the book on the back of that.

The stuff that they (well all young soldiers went through fills me with both Horror and Absolute Pride and Respect.

The interviews by the soldiers in the Programmes/Series "Band Of Brothers" always made me feel like crying and I have HUGE Respect for them and they deserve every accolade and ceremony of remembrance and honour.

A seriously well accomplished actor... From Yossa Hughes (Gizza Job) in "Boys From The Blackstuff" to "Lord Of The Rings" and "Wolf Hall"... Always utterly convincing in whatever role he was playing.

Said to be not only a consummate artist but very much a Gentleman who treated others well.

I saw a bit of a clip on SlySports yesterday and the banner underneath was people being quoted about "the passing of Sol" etc and for a second I thought maybe Sol Campbell had done something silly.

Anyway, RIP Sol Bamba. 39 is a terribly young age to die.

My dad worshipped him and that team of the mid to late 60s and then of course the Double team of 71.

RIP George.
