Could very well be that he's activated bonus clauses in his contract or he had a pay rise clause in there when he first signed it. Seems like it's being announced as a reward and a show of faith in the player rather than just saying "He's got a decent agent and solicitor who made sure they got certain terms inserted in his contract and we have to pay him more now."mcdowell42 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 19, 2025 6:43 pmExclusive: Leandro Trossard has agreed a new deal at Arsenal.
30-year-old will have salary increased to reflect valued role in squad.
Deal not extended - will still run to 2027.

So it’s just his salary that’s increased not the length of the contract….that’s all a bit mental. I can’t say I remember that happening before.

So there we have it - first confirmed injury and no shock its Havertz
This could be a blessing in disguise - whilst everyone is going ga-ga over Eze and Rodrygo, we have one CF currently trying to acclimitise to life in England and a bloke who was never the answer who is now injured
Go get a proper second striker, even if on loan, and trust Madueke, Dowman and Nwaneri to compete with the under performing Martinelli and Odegaard

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Now I can see why Trossard got a payrise, obviously they couldn't lose another attacking player due to this injury
Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Bringing in one striker when we had no others was always 'not enough' anyway. Most clubs have 2 or 3 strikers and we have one FFS.

The last thing I want to do is Jinx Big Vik, but what happens .. now that Havertz is injured and Big Vik aka: Glock14
also gets injured...
Leeds have a good manager but will still come out to Kick Lumps out of our Players...
Yet again Captain Black's inability to see the Whole Picture; only what he wants to see.
edit: Ornstein says (Sorry DB!) on Twitter:
"Arsenal forward Kai Havertz set for spell out with knee injury. Assessments on 26yo Germany int’l at early stage so prognosis + duration unclear but #AFC actively exploring transfer market for signing to strengthen attack & provide cover
@TheAthleticFC"
I don't care what team / club you are... You don't start " actively exploring transfer market" unless there is a strong possibility that they need a replacement for a player likely to be out Long Term..

I heard there was a half decent striker at Newcastle, who is looking for a move at the moment.OneBardGooner wrote: ↑Wed Aug 20, 2025 11:36 amThe last thing I want to do is Jinx Big Vik, but what happens .. now that Havertz is injured and Big Vik aka: Glock14also gets injured...
