Can you speak French?Perryashburtongroves wrote:The funny thing is, I've seen Giroud interviewed on French Tv and he seems to come across as quite a decent bloke, quite friendly and humble and polite. The problem for us, and the lucky thing for him, is that he shouldn't be anywhere near a top of the table team in a decent league. He'd be fine strolling around in the French, Austrian or Belgian leagues, scoring 15 mis-hit goals a year and being paid a couple of grand a week. That's his level and playing for us just makes him look a morose, whiny prick because he's totally out of his depth.

To be honest the biggest problem with his attitude is that he doesn't back it up on the pitch. Henry was far more arrogant, van Persie was a cocky shit - but you didn't care because both of those justified it and banged in the goals.Perryashburtongroves wrote:The funny thing is, I've seen Giroud interviewed on French Tv and he seems to come across as quite a decent bloke, quite friendly and humble and polite. It's the same as Wenger constantly spouting rubbish - I wouldn't really care if the stuff on the pitch wasn't so predictable.

Remarkably consistent.... challenge up until Feb, roof caves in, by the end of the month we are out of all comps & fighting for 4th. THAT is the consistency we should all be eternally grateful for.
Just FUCK OFF!!

Lets get it right Giroud plays for himself, he is not a team player.....seen some games when after about 5 minutes he is looking at the heavens and making faces to himself
He is so wrapped up in himself its unreal, and of course frustrated because he cannot back up his huge ego with results on the pitch
Out of place as an Arsenal striker, we want Lewandowski, or that geyser from Dortmund we want a top quality striker....why the fuck not we pay the money, living in London not so shaby either, regular Champions league football, a proven top striker will come if they pay

Because EVERYBODY knows we need one and EVERYBODY is telling him to get one...... so he won't, simple as that. He will NOT be told by ANYONE, he'll rather get relegated than take advice. Yeah, enough to live in a French-speaking country and get on with life. My understanding and reading is ok, speaking-wise, I'm fine if I know the context. They have decent football shows and L'equipe newspaper is a fairly good way to keep my reading-level up. I find the players tend to be more open on European tv and not so concerned with being tricked or set-up. My wife is a German-speaker and says she's amazed at how formal and polite their players are on German and Austrian telly when compared to English players on British to.casgooner wrote:Can you speak French?Perryashburtongroves wrote:The funny thing is, I've seen Giroud interviewed on French Tv and he seems to come across as quite a decent bloke, quite friendly and humble and polite. Where do you live? I envy you being able to speak a foreign language. I lived in Spain for a while and picked up a bit of the language, I'm forgetting it all now though! I want to brush up on my French as I'm more likely to visit France than Spain now.Perryashburtongroves wrote:Yeah, enough to live in a French-speaking country and get on with life. Like a lot of ego maniacs he thinks only he knows the answer, reminds me of Hitler sitting in his Berlin Bunker with the Russians outside and he is telling his generals to counter attack with just the Hitler youth guard leftxisstential wrote:Because EVERYBODY knows we need one and EVERYBODY is telling him to get one...... so he won't, simple as that. Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Even on the rare occasion Wenger says the word ''sorry'' he just has to follow it up with a '' but ... [insert something repetitive and annoying] '' which renders the ''sorry'' completely meaningless and insincere.Redarmy wrote:Le Boss is on a roll now......

I live in Luxembourg. French is the main working language but it can be hard-work as the locals speak Luxembourgish to each other and outside of the capital city, they will usually start conversations in that language and I can't understand a word. Almost all also speak perfect French and very good German but some don't like using French as they can be a bit protective of Luxembourgish and some of the French who live and work here, can be rude and demanding. I learnt French at school but have been working hard on it since moving here 4 years ago. I can speak to the locals, understand the telly, if I Know what's going on and the radio too, but when things get colloquial , I can be lost. The locals seem to find it quite nice that you make an effort as some foreigners live here for years and exist only in English. It makes me laugh when I hear the people talking to each other in three or four languages like it's no big deal and then telling you that they aren't good at languages and need to improve. Just for the record, some of the French and Belgian press can't quite work out why Wenger is still in a job!casgooner wrote:Where do you live? I envy you being able to speak a foreign language. We're not alone then! I know what you mean about the local language, I lived in the Valenciana region where Spanish is their second language, I used to speak reasonable Spanish to them, but they couldn't understand me!Perryashburtongroves wrote:casgooner wrote:Perryashburtongroves wrote:casgooner wrote:I live in Luxembourg.
