THE WENGER THREAD
Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Like Ive said 100 times it will be the fans followed by the media that will hit his ego and he wont renew.
This boards self-appointed "devils advocate" can attempt to pour cold water or discredit that all he wants but thats what happens at other clubs and thats what will happen at Arsenal.
The fact that RA and BSM have jumped on the bandwagon and set us back is unfortunate but does not change anything. Their stupid, pathetic attempt will soon be forgotton and the real, honest protesters can get on with it unhindered by publicity seekers and #flipfloppers.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
I agree, its ridiculous writing off a season before its started but that's kind of where we're at. Plus we get the "do we let him spend money" question if it's his last season...I just want it to be overClash wrote:I think its a disgrace how we're more or less being told to just accept Wenger will get at least one more year by people who do not have to waste their time or money for that year.silus wrote:I'd take that. I hate the thought of writing off next season already...but at least it'll be the end. Finally.mcdowell42 wrote:Koeman 8/1 to be our next manager, his contact at Southampton apparently ends same time as wengers .
And I see handsome Mark Lawrenson has stuck his nose into the protest debate calling it pathetic. Really Mark? How original. Actually managed to form a strong opinion on something there did you? If anything is pathetic its the man who has been paid a good few million by the BBC over the last 20 years only managing a cliched 'be careful what you wish for' when asked about Wenger.
'Lawro' is the most pathetic pundits in the game and he's up against some stiff competition.

As for fucking "Lawro"....I remember watching a dull nil nil draw during the SA world cup. He was doing the "pundrity" and spent all game moaning about having to suffer it and saying we were lucky because we could turn over/make a cup of tea. Yeah poor you being paid shit loads of money to travel the world to watch football. Hated the jumped up prick ever since.
Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Unfortunately Lawrenson and the others who called RA and BSMs card protest "pathetic" are right.
But those fangroups are to blame for that. No-one else. Whether they did it deliberately or not is up for debate imo.
Whoever thought that a few hundred, or even a couple thousand A4 cards held up during the fukin game in a 60,000 seat stadium would look anything other than "pathetic" is an idiot.
Add to that the fact that they tried to jump on the back of our banner protests and hijacked our TimeForChange message and weakened it just shows you how spineless and fucking "pathetic" these mugs are.

He doesn't give a toss about fans opinion and I think he would claim the high ground even if 60,000 stood up against Villa and begged him to leave. He can spin anything to make it sound like a positive endorsement of his tenure. You only have to look at his response to the weekend's protest (although to be fair, as far as protests go, it was a bit lame) to see how he can spot his few supporters but fail to see the detractors.DB10GOONER wrote:My money is on him extending tbh.foxinthebox2001 wrote:A lot of this softening towards Wenger in the media, ex players is down to the acceptance that Wenger will step aside/down next summer and because of his record early in his Arsenal reign he should allowed to run down his contract.
Who believes he will? I see no indication he is ready to hand over power to anyone.
If the club know it his final season where is the forward planning for a smooth transition?![]()
I can't believe we still have people that think the fans can change it after that showing! If you do then you need a reality check (although baba will still be here spouting shite)!
And why should he leave???? Kronke is happy CUSTOMERS are happy, he is happy on 8 million a year....wheres the problem ? a few disgruntled CUSTOMERS ????
They don't want you there, you don't spend like the tourists
Of course will start a decline, no atmosphere then hopefully these new transient CUSTOMERS will find another home, the Emirates move made all this possible![]()

I wonder if i can get in down at Brentford next season

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Now all of the losers like us have long since departed the CL, I can watch the thing properly and enjoy some decent quality football. When you look at the sides left in the competition they either have:
1. One or two world class players up front e.g. Aguero, Ronaldo, Ribery
2. A superbly marshalled defence with genuine combative midfielders, where possession doesn't matter so long as when it gets near the danger area you can break it up effectively and spring forward - Atletico must be the best I've seen able to do this in a long stretch
3. Genuine game changing pace as Griezman just showed to skin the Bayern back line
There are other qualities of course but its so obvious watching us that we have none of this (arguably Sanchez but doesn't score enough at CL level) and we don't have any form of identity to our play. We're not special at anything anymore. From 98 to 04 we were renowned for that ability to win a scrap and then spring forward at breakneck speed with genuine world class talents up front. Look at our goals for record this season - its pathetic - and we've lost any sense of intensity in our play. I honestly couldn't describe our style anymore - its just a load of nothing

In fairness to Arsene he did look at Griezman but didn't think he was for sale. I wonder does Walcott etc feel any shame looking at the attitude, effort, workrate of these players. Do AKBs not see how far away we are. It's fantastic stuff.

Meaning that his club weren't desperate to sell him at half his value.oaodan wrote:In fairness to Arsene he did look at Griezman but didn't think he was for sale.
Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Either that or his club didn't place an advert in Exchange and Mart or place him on Ebay officially declaring him for sale with the permission of agent, parents, wife and the entire board of directorsnorthbank123 wrote:Meaning that his club weren't desperate to sell him at half his value.oaodan wrote:In fairness to Arsene he did look at Griezman but didn't think he was for sale.
Re: THE WENGER THREAD
How awfully convenient for Wenger that he never seems to buy those types of players while our rivals do exactly that every season.oaodan wrote:In fairness to Arsene he did look at Griezman but didn't think he was for sale. Second CL final within 2 years, touching distance of a League title all on a shoestring budget. But Simeone plays boring football and I wouldn't want him at the club ruining our classy image.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
A man who cares far too much about success to contemplate pandering to bang average second-choice keepers like Fabianski, Szczesny and Ospina in big games?MrT wrote:How awfully convenient for Wenger that he never seems to buy those types of players while our rivals do exactly that every season.oaodan wrote:In fairness to Arsene he did look at Griezman but didn't think he was for sale. Heresy.
Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Exactly, was thinking the same during tonight's match. And what commitment from the people on the sideline, imagine having a manager who wants to win football matches. I think if someone mentioned expected goals in Atletico's locker room, Simeone would kick that person's arse.SteveO 35 wrote:Now all of the losers like us have long since departed the CL, I can watch the thing properly and enjoy some decent quality football. Another league title and another CL semi final defeat to a Spanish team. I wish our groundhog seasons were like Bayern's

Atletico in the Champions League under Diego Simeone:
2013/14: Finalists
2014/15: Quarter finals
2015/16: Finalists
But has he qualified for the CL 19 seasons in a row? I think not

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
What if Champions League still was just for champions? Only because of some unfair business has TOF been allowed to qualify as 4th for so long. It should have been for UEFA cup most of those years

You gotta hand it to Lord A-Hole, he did say all along tbf, that money wasn't the main factor and that you can succeed on lesser resources and Leicester have proved him right. So just a wee reminder of what he said last summer before the season kicked off...
