I would really love for this deal to go through but on the same day as Ramsey signing a new contract!? It would be so typical Wenger to find an excuse and pull out of this transfer. He'll come out and say "Look at the great talent we already have..." but Cole is on a FREE! fair enough don't pay £10 million + for him but at least have him as back-up. No doubt just like every season they'll be a patch of the season if not months that we wont be able to line up our strongest midfield, so to have an experienced premier league player (from england!!!!) on our bench would be great.

Im desperate for signings this summer and on a free I say "Why not" and really hope all these rumours are true.

And fair play to the person that started this thread days before any papers got to the story. Wenger sometimes says "No news is good news" so we'll have to wait and see..............

As much as I'm excited by the prospect, does this mean we're only getting one other player?!!!!!!!! I'm hoping Chamkah and Cole start off a summer of signings.

Wenger said in May we should sign a maximum of 2-3 players so im guessing if Cole signs with Chamakh then either that is it or we will sign one defender.....

The Number one priority like it has been since Jens left is a keeper. We are fucked if we are still relying on Average and Flappy come August

Defensively we are at our weakest as a team/squad yet if Wenger signs Cole and keeps to his 'only 2 or 3 signings this summer and all sorted before the world cup' he keeps signing attacking players

I heard this morning from someone I know who works at a senior level at Arsenal that Joe Cole will be a Gooner next season. Doesn't want to leave London and had already accepted Arsenal before Harry got in touch. Must say that, if this is true, I would be very surprised. Elated but surprised. Would love to see an English player of that quality in an Arsenal shirt... it's been a while!
