Champions League Qualifiers

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

will my car get stolen in Udine during the match, if I park it in the city with Swiss ( svizzera ) number plate on?

Will my car still be in one piece if for 2 hours after the match I drive round the city beeping my horn and waving an Arsenal flag out of the window?

omg! obviously your car will not get stolen or broken! our crime rate is dramatically lower than the london rate. (well, if you need something to tell to your friends when you are back, just give me the plate number and i can arrange the job :D )

about the second question: why should you beep any horns or wave flags? to celebrate the first EL since 2006?
:barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

I'm coming from Zurich, and every time I drive to Italy everyone says that my car will be stolen. It hasn't been...yet!

Second answer...nice!:D
Although not 2006, ten years out almost, we've been in the Champions League for 14 years.

Very worried about this game though.

Oh, what do you think of Almen Abdi, a player from my 2nd team, FCZ ?

seriuosly speaking, i think you shouldn't worry. we have lost sanchez, our midfield is yet to invent and the wingers have just come back from the south america's tournament. anyway, were it a certain science it wouldn't be football. let's play!

about abdi there's a big talk going on, among the supporters. some say that he is ready to take sanchez's place. some reply that he's a second division player.
i think abdi is a good one, but he has to improve his play, he's a bit too passive.
our trainer made him play all the games so far.

No. Unless things get progressively worse between now and next week, I don't anticipate there being either a postponement of the match or a change of venue.

Well the game is in two weeks. I can't see the riots lasting that long!

Well I can understand your concern but hope and expect things to go ahead as plannned. I would suggest keeping an eye on here up until you're scheduled to leave and if anything changes regarding the match, we're sure to have notice of it. 8)

is there a Ljubljana - Udine train?
will the bars in Udine be closed on the night of the game?
good luck, hopefully in the europa cup!
Mate probably best route is via Villach in Austria. Good trains on both bits. Go on bahn.de and look at timetables.

i'm scheduled on aug 17th. anyway i won't change my plans. the worst option will be spending some time in london and pub-watching the match there. not too bad an option, i say.
