It seems to me that yet again engerland are looking for excuses and/or somebody to blame instead of just accepting what is the obvious.........they are just not good enough. Maybe it is understandable that after every tournament the english media and fans start looking ahead and talking about the great young players coming through but the system is not set up to be successful at international football and as long as greed in the premier league (too many teams in it) takes precedence over the health of the assets (the footballers) then things will never change much
Anyway hodgson done all he can with the materials he had to work. Could the football have been prettier ? Maybe so but as us Gooners all know, pretty football doesnt def make you a successful team either
augie, I think pretty much the overwhelming majority of people have accepted that England are not good enough. Of course the media, most particularly in England, has a vested interest in bigging up the players and the chances of success, and even deciding that success is getting out of the group.
When you say engerland (if you're going to use the "ger" in Engerland, may I suggest you also go the whole hog and use the "In" at the start

), to whom are you referring? Fans, media, the England set-up or all three?
I think it lazy thinking to put out this tired old "England lay blame elsewhere", when clearly the majority have a clear realisation of what they are and where the problems are, and those who are over the top in their estimation of the team are just perhaps like the good old rosetinters we know and love
