As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
As far as I'm concerned he's as good as gone. But I've decided that I'm not going to spend my summer worrying about it.
Of course I want him to stay but history dictates that we tend to make a big sale each summer. Look how many big summer sales have gone in the past? (Cesc, Nasri, Henry, Veira, Helb & Adebayor etc..)
I'd love RVP to be the exception to the rule but there's really no point speculating about it now.
Moan, rant and worry if he leaves & celebrate if he stays.

What this is, is an opinion. I'm not pretending to know. Its not even speculation about what he might do. I just don't like people going 'He's off' when you don't know for a fact that to be the case.
I'm like an elephant, mate.
I think that you know when most people say he's off (FrankButcher excepted, because he has a man on the inside ), that they are stating their opinion. But you prefer to position it otherwise, because then it would fit into your agenda - that of Arsenal's moaning, negative, self-hating fans.
That's just my opinion and we all have some sort of agenda, so I don't judge yours - it's only how I see it.

But the AKBs will say - look at what's happened to Cesc since he left. I mean he's had to suffer the horrible outcome of only finishing 2nd in Spain, reaching a CL semi-final and winning two cups before the season started. I mean heaven forbid, if Robin only has that to look back on as opposed to one FA Cup in seven years plus the Emirates Cup
Definitely leaving, if he had any intention of signing he would have done it before the euros. The only thing to be decided is where he is going, I have an awful feeling he may end up at chavski.

Of course we all want him to stay. But honestly speaking, if he has any ambition as a professional footballer he must go. He will win nothing with us. He is a great player that at least deserves a few medals to show at the end of his career. Add to that the vast amount of money he will get elsewhere and it is win, win for him. It does not matter that he "will not be loved like he is at Arsenal". I am sure that will not bother him when he is winning trophies and playing on the biggest stages. And perhaps the best thing for our Club is that he does go. It will once and for all put an end to that ridiculous claim that "if Wenger goes the best players will follow him out the door". People may finally realise that the game is up for the current regime and that wholesale change is needed. That is the deluded hope I cling to anyway.
to be honest if he left now after informing Arsenal supporters that the club no longer matched his ambition I think he would leave with a great deal of respect. It might also put overwhelming pressure on the board.
if he lets it drag on all summer he could end up being a hate figure like Nasri. I would hope that he was better than that.

I might agree if when anyone else states something different they weren't shouted down as being some sort of fantasist. Nobody knows about what is going on. Fuck, nobody is even sure if said meeting happened last week. It was on BBC Sport and everyone assumed it was correct. People need to just focus on the facts. Sure RVP has reason to leave, but he also has reason to stay. I'm not sure one supposed meeting last week was going to utterly convince him either way.

Agree totally with the first bit. I don't think he would ever do a Nasri. But to be fair to the latter, according to him he told Wenger at the end of the previous season that he wanted out. It was Wenger who let it drag on with the whole "I am convinced he will stay" nonsense. Utter incompetence on his part.
