The Yaya Sanogo lack of Progress Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

So far he's only managed 9 minutes due to his inability to stay fit, which was raised as a concern by just about anybody with access to a computer when he signed. Although to be fair he has also done his best in those 9 minutes plus Emirates Cup appearance to give Bendtner as much confidence as possible by being twice as shit as him.
Judging someone as being shit after seeing so little of them is precisely what's wrong with the modern football fan. You probably want him shipped out in January right? What a world we live in
Ah yeah the 'modern football fan demanding instant success' - the bastion of the myopic Wenger apologist.

We only ever play 1 striker and even compared to other 4-5-1 systems our formation puts an immense amount of pressure/responsibility on that striker to the extent that our system just doesn't work with a donkey like Gervinho or Park up front (Marseille H 2011/12, Norwich A and Bradford A 2012/13 being classic examples of games where we created virtually fuck all despite being far superior to the opposition).

So even if Sanogo manages to stay fit for a sustained period and even if he isn't actually shite when is he going to get a chance to show it under Wenger without risking sacrificing games? We're a football club not a charity and even if he stays fit for a while shouldn't jeopardise games by playing him as lone striker.

Speaking of progress (can't find a thread for it nor want to start one) we have young Joel Campbell starting for Costa Rica in a friendly versus Oz tonight in Sydney. If he is going to be any kind of striker for us i think he needs to get a few tonight because to be perfectly frank i've never seen a worse Australian Team. Will report anythng worthwhile on the kid. BTW France beats Oz 6-0 and yet Oz to World Cup and odds against France - go figure! You should be able to challenge for a spot.

Robin's right, lets start with Sanogo in the big game with napoli, and start him against man city in three weeks time. will give us a good chance to ruin our season before the new year instead of letting our hopes up until march :barscarf:

He's coming back in January and he is going to help us 8)

on buying a striker in January...

I am not concerned about that. We have at the moment Yaya Sanogo who is a striker we brought in during the summer, who is coming back from injury in January. Hopefully he will help us in the second part of the season.

I think Wenger is keeping him there intentionally until the end of January, because if he plays now and plays like s***, he would have to buy a striker in Jan, but this way he can say "we have Sanogo" and when he plays in Feb and we all see he's another Benny, it will all be like "Well, we can't do anything about that until summer"...

.. and Stan and his financial management graduate son will be happy :)

Gotta be honest. This would not surprise me in the slightest. :(

Apparently Diaby (aka: Ouch! The Injured One) and Sanogo (aka; Diaby Mk2) have their very own treatment rooms. Well it was either have the upgrade done at the bowl or buy a new striker in January...guess what!? :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:  :cussing:

No need to worry about Sanogo's injury problems when we've got Nicky B as our back-up!! :barscarf:
