Re: Orcs Away - March 1st.
We are such a cowardly team. Not saying the players are cowards but we're so fucking scared of losing games that we set up in a way you'd expect from relegation scrappers away to title challengers with 1 isolated player up front. We've only scored in the first half of 3 of our last 14 PL games and tbh we could have played for 95 hours and still wouldn't have troubled Begovic.
Giroud obviously has no brain inside that thick skull. Whenever we get the ball in a decent position he pulls out into the channel where he is no threat and allowing CBs to close down the player on the ball without worrying. He got kicked around today but acts like a complete cock moaning every 5 minutes, gesticulating and throwing a tantrum. Sanogo is a useless footballer but at least he stretches defences by looking to get in behind and thinking about his runs a bit, Giroud's movement is abysmal.
Before we brought Ozil on I thought what the fuck do people expect from him? The only way he could change the game is by scoring a solo screamer because we were so rigid, so negative, so pedestrian. To his credit Chamberlain actually tried to break the mould of endless sideways passing and posed a threat a few times with clever runs off the ball.
Today was typical Wenger tactical ineptitude. Wrong from the start and even changing personnel had little to no effect on our play. Cannot identify problems during matches and cannot identify problems season to season. Listening to commentators etc you'd think we have the worst luck in the world because every other week we seem to come up against an inspired defensive performance. We've been playing shit for months and it is really catching up with us now, if we lose to Spurs we are gonna be dragged right into a scrap for 4th place.

since when was holding up the ball the primary role of a striker? I've never heard anyone describe thierry henry as "the best at holding the ball up in the world".spendsum4uckingmoney wrote:Because he can't run, hold up the ball or perform any skill.Henry Norris 1913 wrote:why isn't he playing up front then? no lets put giroud up front because he can hold the fucking ball up. when will they learn we created a team around a fucking lampost that just stands with his back to goal, waiting to flick the ball on for invisible runs? it's fucking dire footballspendsum4uckingmoney wrote: Podolski is just a fucking waste of space. and what are you actually talking about with the skill? did you not see his finish against west ham this season? when did giroud ever take a ball like that?

Re: Orcs Away - March 1st.
To excusing Wenger in the slightest but our injury luck is horrific. Ramsey was a dead cert for player of the season performing super human feats every week. Then basically out for whole fucking season. Ditto Walcott was getting in the swing and The thought of him debeloping an understanding with Ozil was mouthwatering. Out for the whole fucking season. I knew when Walcott got fucked that Arsenal (and of course England) had lost one of their absolute top key players, and by far their most dangerous player.
Given this how the fuck Wenger and the board saw fit not to sign a replacement for this season and beyond beggars belief.

I cannot even be bothered being angry anymore.
That might be wrong and I will probably get slaughtered for it but anyone who thinks this man can get this once great team back to winning ways is not a fan true fan IMHO.

Wenger Out.

what are you talking about? when the fuck did I say he was? a striker isn't supposed to be stationary for ninety minutes waiting for a ball to come so he can flick it on.spendsum4uckingmoney wrote:Podolski isn't Henry.Henry Norris 1913 wrote:since when was holding up the ball the primary role of a striker? When we lose my good man. They are playing with reckless abandon in contrast to our timid, boring, possession-for-possessions-sake shit on a stick.northbank123 wrote:Today was typical Wenger tactical ineptitude. I wonder what oft wheeled out excuses Wenger will trot out after this latest embarrassment.

Without Walcott, setting up like that with Giroud on his own against a physical team like Stoke is a waste of fucking time. The likes of Rosicky, Carzola, and Ozil are great players who are absolutely laughably ineffectual in that system. How the hell Wenger can't see it I've no idea.

I think you'll find it's all part of the Wenger master plan! We've got too many points at the moment so need to drop some so we can resume our annual chase for 4th place and then everyone can celebrate achieving it on the last day o and put the season down as being successful!!

We'd be 3rd if Liverpool win. We're ahead of Citeh and they have a cup final tomorrow.clockender1 wrote:If the mickeys win we go 4th.

Your point is still valid though, obviously.
For me, we've done a 2007/08 and started to run out of steam. In fact, we've been poor for a few months now wghich is why the decision not to give the team a January boost is all the stranger.
Still, we've been here before. Wenger has his way, and he won't change that in pursuit of trophies - and that's the problem.

Re: Orcs Away - March 1st.
Ref was a *word censored*, but was his performance any worse than most of our players today? Were his decisions any less logical than some of Wenger's?
Stoke are the worst of sort of dirty cheating bastards, the nasty, snide type, but we play right into their hands every time with our reactions. Giroud had every right to complain about the stamps but far too often he was rolling around for the most basic of fouls. Even when the decision went our way, instead of getting on with it quickly while Stoke were out of shape there he is sat on his arse like a stroppy toddler.
Wilshere was the absolute worst though. He's been improving lately but today he was appalling. All jokes aside if you added up all the time he spent on the ground clutching one part of his leg or another I'm certain it'd add up to more minutes than he spent on the ball or doing anything constructive. How has no-one got a hold of him yet and drummed it into him that it's just counterproductive. We break up our own play (and whatever little rhythm and tempo we had) with this petty shit.
