Swansea Away Match

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Fuck all to do with having a left back playing at centre half then ?

He looks a beaten man - why he hasn't got the guts and self respect to walk away when all he is doing is continue to fail

Was just about to post that depressed as Wenger is, he will go home and check his bank balance and all will be well, then saw your loadsamoney on here.
We lost because one of the highest paid managers in the world with 7 million games under his belt (or whatever) failed to notice that his makeshift RB was being roasted all afternoon and his other fit FB, played out of position at CB, was an accident waiting to happen. I refuse to believe that Chambers wouldn't have done better at CB and Monreal at RB. Or even Bellerin, given that Montero's main asset is pace.
But then I've not managed the local bin men for 7000 games

I can see Gazidis watching at home, thinking how do we get rid of this muppet before the wheels really come off and our fat dividends dry up. Alexis walking off shaking his head again too.

His failings are Numerous – Too numerous for him to be considered worthy of managing a club the size and quality of Arsenal

His dealings in the summer transfer market – were half-cocked – Alexis, Chambers, Debuchy, Ospina – And yet still no CB to cover TV leaving and for the umpteenth season no DMF….

His failure to buy Fabregas – even if he had to sell one of the other myriad of like skilled Mid-field players that we have – sell Carzorla – Buy Fabregas – Santi Carzorla is a very good player, but if you had the choice between the two who would you choose.

He plays Monreal at CB – who has to mark Boney - why didn’t he play Chambers at CB and Monreal on the flank ? He is Clueless when it comes to Defensive Tactics - Mind you I have only supported The Arsenal for 44 years – what would I know about the team I love and know inside out – His use of substitutes is so predictable it is Embarrassing…

If this continues – and if Wenger remains – The I can see Alexis Sanchez leaving..and who would blame him?

The thing is as long as Wenger is keeping Arsenal in the CL – and making money for Kreonke, he will do nothing – he is renowned for allowing his Franchises in the US to wallow on the edges of success – as long as they make a profit.

It is Arsenal FC NOT Arsene FC

He should have bowed out after the FA Cup final – which we were fortunate to win btw.

I Want him Gone….at first I was worried about the period of transition when he left – Not anymore – at least we would surely get a manager wgho knows something about tactics and has a plan B and C

WENGER FUCK OFF YOU TOOL !

F365:

"Assuming we're all bored t*tless of talking about Arsenal's transfer failings, the other sub-section is a more pertinent question about this challenge, this week. There has been plenty of evidence (the 3-3 v Anderlecht, the 2-2 v Hull) that Monreal is no centre-half and yet Wenger persisted with the Spaniard against a team with height and physicality up front. Swansea had not scored from a header this season in the Premier League before Sunday; they had not played against Monreal in the Premier League before Sunday.
Monreal did not win a single aerial challenge against Swansea - the last one he lost cost Arsenal a point - but it is ridiculous to blame the average left-back playing at centre-half thanks to a series of poor decisions from his manager. Compounding the situation was the absolute roasting given to Calum Chambers by Swansea winger Jefferson Montero, who made him look like a slow, lumbering centre-half playing out of position.
Actually, make that a 'tall, slow, lumbering centre-half playing out of position' who really should have been standing alongside Per Mertesacker, being tall and not giving Swansea an easy target. Hector Bellerin - the man who has taken Theo Walcott's club 40m sprint record - was sat on the bench rather than matching Montero stride for stride. The line-up made no sense when it emerged at 3pm and it made even less sense at 5.37pm when Montero got past Chambers again and Monreal was beaten in the air once again."

Yeah, Tyler's an Arsenal fan.

Also, I can envision it now. Sanchez hands in a transfer request when we inevitably end up trophyless, and all the AKBs will crawl out of the woodwork with this classic: "No player is bigger than the club! Fuck him, we'll always be a big club, you'll never hear from this guy again"!

And then silence as he walks to the double at Man City.

A couple of weeks later: "Give Wenger a chance, he's got a huge warchest now and will use that money to replace Sanchez, just wait and see".

And the silence as nobody is signed, and we go with Sanogo and Walcott for the season.

A couple of weeks later: "Judge him in May - if we don't win anything this season, Wenger will definitely buy huge in the summer. He HAS to"!!!

Rinse and repeat.

Pre the FA cup win, he used to come out with this patronising crap about the emirates being like a trophy, if he is a gooner, he must be doing his best to hide it, by going completely the opposite way, when commentating.
