Gabriel, Elneny, Iwobi and Welbeck all had good games.

Elneny is so much better than Ramsey. He is very efficient with his passing and movement. Basically the exact opposite of Wenger's love child.

Good to see the two of them scoring today. No doubt they'll both be back on the bench for the next game whilst Giroud and Wankpot bugger about up front for 90 minutes.

Agreed. In fairness to Ramsey though, he isn't a centre midfielder. He has neither the passing range nor discipline to play there. He needs to play in a central three which means Ramsey or Ozil... and sadly for Rambo that choice is a no brainer.

Wenger is doing Ramsey and, more importantly, Arsenal a huge disservice by trying to shoehorn Ramsey in at centre midfield and right midfield. Is it any wonder we look better without him?

Elneny looks a good signing. 8)

The Irish flat season starts tomorrow as well as the F1

Apparently there's some runners up football match or something in North London too. Thought it had all finished but there you go

Just seen highlights on motd and it looks like it was as one sided as the last few pages of this thread suggested :o
Can't say that I am surprised that we won today, cos history has shown us that le cock always gets a big result when he is under severe pressure

I think that it is about time some of these akb w*nkers either get a few slaps or that somebody shops them to the old bill when they start getting overly aggressive in their defence of wenker - if fans are breaking no rules/law and are not abusive in any way, then they should be protected when attempting to display a respectful banner

Just watched the highlights and thouhht we took both goals well.
I like Ospina a lot and he's too good to sit on a bench for most of the season which is a shame for us.

The game was played more directly yesterday than of late. The passing was quicker and there was less showboating flicks and unnecessary twists and turns and extra touches. Yes Aaron I'm talking about you. Also Iwobi is physically stronger than Theo and that helps. His goal was one I think Walcott wouldn't take at this time. Firstly he would have had too much time to think and where his speed may have taken him away from the defender quicker I think he would have taken another touch or two and the chance would have been smothered by the keeper.
The central defenders , after a dodgy start by Gabriel, played well . Gabriel seemed to enjoy the physical side of it. Coquelin was disciplined for a change and i thought Elneny was a major improvement on our midfielders of late.
Welbeck has his faults but at the moment he is the best we have and always looks up for the game. Maybe Rednose thought him a few things about being or wanting to be a winner.
Overall it was a good performance but the infuriating thing is why cannot it be more consistent ?.

For me the big change was our movement.

A writer in the Standard last week highlighted how, in the Watford match, at one point Joel Campbell cut in from the right, drove towards the penalty area, looked up and not one single Arsenal player was moving; 10 stationary players.

Yesterday, Welbeck, Iwobi and Elneny were constantly on the move, looking for space or a run in behind, which actually gives Ozil someone to pass to.
Watch Giroud in acttacking play and it's like someone's nailed his feet to the turf.

Worringly, Alexis is still playing poorly.

Clattenburg didn't give us a thing, it was getting laughable towards the end when their players were blatantly tripping or blocking off the ball and getting away with it.

I have less time for Giroud as every week passes. The bloke has won the football lottery and it's sickening to think that he has occupied a protected position as our lone striker for 4 seasons. You would think that he may have had s bit of a humbling having finally managed to persuade Wenger to bench him after years of piss-poor performances, but yesterday he came off the bench and gave his usual half-arsed performance with any counter attack breaking down at his sluggish feet, arms outstretched in indignation as the world turns against him once more at every opportunity. Welbeck and Iwobi were still running their bollocks off after 75 minutes and they are hauled off to make way for this lazy prick to saunter about as though coming off the bench is beneath him and suck all of the tempo out of our play. Nowhere near good enough, sickeningly overpaid, dreadful attitude, doesn't step up when it matters yet occupies a protected position for years - if there was one player who epitomised the last decade under Wenger it's this bloke.

Good performance and good result. Although hugely predictable that as soon as everybody declares that the tide is turning against him, we come up against a shower of shit like that. We will go in flat-track bully mode to a second placed finish and all of this ill-feeling will be a footnote in the media wankathon over Leicester winning the league. AKBs will point out that we finished above City, Chelsea, United and Liverpool, and of course Spurs who everybody said were fantastic in February. There is a glimmer of hope that he might leave at the end of his contract but can anybody see the most conceited, arrogant, deluded despot in football publicly declaring that he is no longer the best person to take the club forward and resign?

Kevaldo wrote:Tidy game from Elneny in the midfield, he slots in nicely with Coq. Iwobi growing as Arsenal player and the link up between him and Welbeck gave us a real threat. Even Gabriel looked solid today. I wouldn't deviate much from this line up for the rest of the season, apart from maybe Cech.
