As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Finishing 10 points behind Leicester is nothing to shout about.
Total of 5 banners inside the ground today.
Decision was made (reluctantly) not to show them today. It was felt (by most of us) that with the turnaround and a lot of gooners elated and actually feeling like it was a trophy to finish above them, to let them enjoy the moment.
Personally I was a bit disappointed but felt it was the right thing to do. There were players out there with babies in their arms too and that contributed to the decision also.
Although fair play to forum member Redsenga who whipped out a Wenger Out sign when Wenger walked past. Ha ha.
Fair play, mate
Will you/others be displaying banners from the start of next season? TOF's waiting until the last day to re-new next May could work to our advantage; let him know that his lies, negligence and wilful underachievement are not welcome. There will be plenty of time to build the dissent to the point that he decides to leave. The standard shit results and performances can only help too.
Any photos of Redsenga showing TOF the sign?
No point really - kudo's to those that protested and you have my total respect and support (from a distance ), but the reality is that today was the last chance that the banners MIGHT have made a difference. By the start of next season the French c.unt will have signed a new contract, and if you think that moving him from the position is tough when he has one year left, imagine how tough it will be with a new 3 year contract in his back pocket

Banner above the Armoury before todays game. It generally received a positive response, with only one guy (carrying a newly purchased gunnersaurus toy. Not kidding btw.) shouting a few verbals.

Arteta scores and Wenger and the players act like its a great send off to a club legend.
Im sorry, but Arteta is one of the most forgetful players to have played for us in recent years. The only difference between Arteta and the likes of Gervinho and Santos, is Wenger allowed Arteta to continue to struggle rather than put the poor sod out of his misery.
What did Arteta do as player and captain to deserve a 'send off'? His role as a holding midfielder typified how badly Wenger interprets the game, given he thinks such a player is suited to that role. In particular the past two seasons, Arteta has been an absolute liability. The game at WBA typified how poorly he was suited to the captaincy and holding role. Comes on the field, takes the arm band, tries to act like a leader by making tackles. But all he does is give away free kicks, because he has no strengh or tackling technique. The free kick leads to a goal, then he scores an unavoidable own goal, before getting injured and subbed off himself.
Yet we celebrated his Arsenal career? Why? He got more out of playing for Arsenal in terms of money and experience (such as CL football), than we as a club received for having him. Arteta owes Arsenal gratitude, as his presence at the club was us doing him a favour.
Personally I think some of you are being harsh on Arteta - although Granted the club legend status which has been bestowed on him in some quarters is well over the top (at least equally so for Rosicky mind).
We signed him when his best years were behind him in the most obvious of panic buys and shoved him into the biggest calamity of a side we've had in decades alongside Song and Ramsey after we had sold Fabregas and Nasri. Apart from van Persie he was the only bloke you could reasonably expect to put in a decent performance on any given week that season, and likewise the next year.
Being brutally honest the guy was good enough to be a squad player in his heyday, not a key player in his twilight years. How he has been retained the past two years is beyond sense. But I still give the bloke a significant amount of credit for coming in and putting in consistent and professional performances for two years when nobody around him was doing that.
As you said. He was at his best at Everton. And when he was at Everton he wasnt as good as what we had in Cesc, Nasri. Yet as you said he was signed to replace the mentioned players, and it wasnt a stop-gap, as Wenger kept him for 5 years.
I just cant have any tolerance for a player who took more from the club than he gave back. We gave Arteta 80k a week, CL football, and the captaincy. What did he do for us? This is the story for a lot of players. Giroud, Walcott, Ramsey, Mertesacker - these players get more out of Arsenal, then they give back.
Giving Arteta a hero's send off is saying his Arsenal career was acceptable. Yet if you ask me, if we could have another 5 years of Arteta from when he was 29 - no fuking way!!
Arteta contributed more in his first 2 years with us than most of the players at that time did in 5 years, and more than at least half our current team have put in in the last 2 years. Solid professional that didn't try the Hollywood passes, flicks, backheels and all that shite. Read the game well and anticipated the play rather than reacted to things too late like Alex Mong did.

Sorry, NASRI? A reasonably skilled player that put in a shift for about half a season at best? Are you serious?
Arteta took more from the club?? He took a pay cut to join us. For those first 2 seasons he was our most (some would say only) consistent player.
