It's funny cos the question I always ask is why don't the English fans police themselves more ? We all know that the vast majority are there for the football and want to enjoy the craic peacefully, but why do they stand back and do nothing when those dickhead hooligans (for want of a better word) drag all the English fans down with them ? Havent we all criticised the peaceful muslims for not doing more to help the authorities fight against sid and his isis buddies ( ) ? It's embarrassing to be honest, no trouble from Welsh, Northern Irish or Republic but England can't have a beer and a good time.

I've seen some of the vids on you tube. It seems like England fans are goading the locals with their provocative chants. Not only that they are giving it to the Germans, and we aren't even in the same group as them. Unfortunately it looks like this is just an excuse for any right wing thug to cause havoc. I was in Germany last year for our CL game vs BM, hundreds of gooners on the metro with their fans not one song about the war came out, just great banter. Some England fans are wankers.

Truth is you do not know the truth of this particular incident, Most are there for a beer and watch the football, but being England you are a target for all the locals who want to have a go........seems like a mob came out tooled up from reports

One game abroad local fans all flashing Knives and making slit throat gestures during the game, then at the end of the game the police baton charged England fans for totally no reason whatsoever, that was a complete shock

Was arrested at gun point with around 20 others for peacefully drinking in a bar with locals

Beaten with truncheons around the legs ( which fucking did sting a bit) in their dungeon of a police station

always remember we was lined up against a wall, with arms up, and if they moved you got a whack

One by one they took an English guy down the steps then you heard the blows reigning in....not one England made sound of submission.........then just as it was my turn a local woman came in and got involved stopped it all...when they admitted they had arrested the wrong bunch

That story is probably one of many such incidents for engerland fans abroad and it too is totally unacceptable. Without doubt English fans are still paying the price for years of wrecking havoc all across Europe and wrightly or wrongly it does take time to wipe the reputation that English fans have worldwide. The thing that seems to be totally ignored (although sid referenced it somewhat), is that English club fans seem to be able to travel across Europe with hardly any trouble (except from the chavs supporters) and that kinda suggests to me that it is national pride gone wrong that sparks the trouble - English club fans go abroad to support their team and to enjoy visiting new places and having the craic, but put all the fans of different clubs together and it seems like this "rule Britannia" shit comes to the fore, and they have to show how tough they are. A siege mentality takes over and this paranoia feeling that everyone hates engerland (and are isis supporters ) seems to affect how people view things. When a load of pissed up English fans start wrecking bars and towns then yes everybody does hate them but decent English fans hate them too

England fans are definitely a target. There is also sadly a small minority who pride themselves on thuggish behaviour, and no surprises that it seems to be more prevalent in France where you can basically take a day trip without spending days or a fortune travelling.

Anyway, back to the football. Wales to lose. England to win.

It's hard not to blame England fans, what did they do last time they visited Marseille. They wrecked the place.

It's always the minority is the claim, but DB10 has hit the nail right on the head. Whenever England go abroad they always have to sing shit like Rule Britannia and other provocative songs about the IRA, Germans, Muslims etc etc . What the fuck has that got to do with football? Do you honestly think it creates a friendly atmosphere hearing all this stuff, are you surprised that locals get offended. We have almost seen an excuse for the sort of behaviour in this thread. But I figured just how dense that individual is on another thread, so won't bother with him.

There is this we still rule the world attitude with England fans in general. Fortunately it's not the majority but the poisonous atmosphere it creates, makes supporting England abroad almost impossible for me personally, to consider going to places like Marseille. With Arsenal I would travel anywhere.
