I mean if you are a top player why would you come to play at Arsenal ???

the only thing going for it is the fact it is in London, but surely we now won't attract anyone with ambition.
of course Wenger never targets those players anyway...
Exactly. The only ones to accept mediocrity at Arsenal are the fans. Now when are those ST renewals out again?? Maybe I'll just stroll round Ivan's and personally hand him the cash while giving him a rim job
That was how you paid for those concert tickets in the RDS a few years back as well, huh? :rubchin:

:D
Olympic 100m finals, the Oscars, sold out concerts, World Cups, you name it, I've rimmed my way into it :barscarf:

Wow! Protest? What protest? You pour cold water on what I do yet you come up with this? Lol
Tell the truth mate, you wouldnt be going anyway. "I stopped going until hes gone" is the lamest, most convenient excuse to do fuckall Ive heard. Lol.

Oh and as the banner quite rightly says.....
"Support the team, not the regime"

By wanting a fraudulent, lying, incompetent egotist to see out his contract "with his head held high" then its you and your likes supporting the regime. Not those of us who actually do something to have a voice and try. At least we try.

Who wants him to see out his contract? He does (and will) but if you read a whole post instead of cherry picking the bits you can understand you'll notice that I said I'd like to see him go before the next game.
My own protest is personal, I'm not claiming I can change things with it, you are (but you can't. Have I mentioned that?)

the banner? Hail the mighty banner that the club also doesn't give a fuck about. It's not going in is it?

i just discovered a site called "untold Arsenal" :D

wow it is like a cult on there, seriously scary and I suppose it shows what we are up against.
I posted a couple of comments but unfortunately they didnt make it past their moderators

for those who havent been on this is an example of the delusion
"Wenger has won 9 major trophies in 19 complete seasons. Not quite as good as Graham - but Graham didn't have the austerity years building a stadium.

I can't understand why Wenger is a worse manager now than he was when he joined? Good old Ranieri has just demonstrated that age is not a significant factor in managerial performance.

It is blindingly obvious that the trophy drought was due to the austerity arising from the stadium build. Although Top 4 always maintained. Then two FA Cups as the situation eased. But we are still not close to MU, MC and Chelsea in spending power.

I agree that this season is a little disappointing... but we are 3rd, and have a chance of 2nd. Why is this a complete unmitigated disaster? Leicester won - good luck to them - but that is a freak outcome.

And we have dropped many points at home we shouldn't have. Many reasons for this, but a negative atmosphere must have been a contributor. Surely? How can it not have been.

Football is an uncertain game, with a lot of luck involved. Which is why the same team doesn't win all the trophies every season.

This season is disappointing, but well within the bounds of possibility, and it is not actually that bad in the wider scheme of things! We are certain to finish above Liverpool and Chelsea, almost certain to finish ahead of Man Utd, have a decent chance of finishing ahead of Man City and could even pip the Totts for 2nd. All that with the usual heavy dose of injuries, inexplicable refereeing and a negative home atmosphere".

He has always prided himself on not leaving part way through a contract. He has said this himself on many occasions.

So just to clarify. The fans protests can or cant influence him?

:D

It was only a matter of time before the 'freak' excuse word was used. But what it really means is that even in a freak season, when all the usual opponents are freakishly out of contention at a freakishly early stage ... Wenger still cant win the fucking title :D :D

Wenger is a freak.

Like you, I thought it could. I've now seen the reality of the situation and know that we can't change things.
The only thing I am happy about is the knowledge that you value my words so much that you're taking the time to look back at all my old posts. I hope you've learned a lot. I'm here all week if you have any questions!

Essentially many of us want him gone and want to protest to show our views. My method is to not give them the thing they care about most.... Money. Yours is to show a banner and chant. In reality both are equally futile. You're just working your way to an early grave from stress and I'm just depriving myself of watching the team I've supported for 40 years.
He'll go when he's ready and not before. I just hope it is sooner rather than later. And with regard his leaving with his head held high? Yes, I'd have liked to have seen that but I don't think it's a reality now. He could have done so, probably even as recently as the start of this season, but not now, I totally accept that. I just think it's a real shame that it has come to this.

How can you say you want him gone then mock, criticise and belittle those that actually take direct action, get up off their asses and do something?
How can you call sitting on your ass doing nothing "a protest" lol. A protest ffs!
Lots of people dont attend games. Are they protesters too?

Then its "a personal protest" lol Yea so personal you post and brag about it on an internet forum ffs.

You say you want him to leave "with his head held high" yet in the next breath say you want him gone now. Dont make sense and contradictory mate.

Most of your posts are excusing, apologosing or supporting Wenger, then you say "ah but Im only playing devils advocate" Do me a favour.

Just like how Ive shown by highlighting your hypocracy. Just be proud of it. Theres no shame at all.

Agreed, mate. I too would have liked to see him go with dignity. I do understand some fans do now genuinely hate him (and some are just keyboard warriors that like to shout the loudest), but I never hated him and still don't, to be honest. But I am now at the stage that I don't care anymore how he goes, just so he goes, for the good of the club and my love of the game.

It's like that ex-girlfriend that you just couldn't work it out with. She was fine but it went to shit and you split up, amicably enough. Initially you are still friends and you wish her all the best. You still care about her a bit. Then a few years later you find out she's riding one of your mates now and you wish the dirty bitch nothing but bad. You still can't hate her as such (because of all them goooood times you had!) but you sure as hell don't like her anymore. :(

Arsene - stop riding my mates!! :D

Leicester City with a first team squad costing less than Ozil and Athletico with revenue similair to that of Newcastle Utd.

But yet apologists still, still excuse Wenger saying he had no money and couldnt compete.

The irony of the money argument has always been that the more successful a team is the more their fan base increases, which means more fans, more product sales, tickets sales etc, etc, but you need success to do so.

It's been proven that world wide sales figures of merchandise rise sharply after premier league and especially CL wins so if you invest and win you make more money, the hard bit is investing the money wisely to make more.

Who's international fan base is likely to increase the most this season ours after being knocked out of the CL 1/4s and probably finishing 4th behind Leicester etc or Athletico's who are through to the CL final and have beaten Bayern and Barca on the way?

Most people don't realise it's less about your local/national fan base any more in terms of making money because that is extremely limited in size, it's the international fans who are more prone to support whoever is winning as they have less long term loyalty as it's not the team they've grown up with.

Obviously fan dissatisfaction and protest can change things, it is just a matter of how big the protests become. In our situation nothing but that will change anything. This is how things change in football clubs all over Europe, and Arsenal are not that special compared to all other clubs. And those protesting now and before that more or less pitiful display last Saturday are the avant garde among Arsenal supporters!

We have come a long way in terms of protests from one solitary polite banner in 2011/12 to what happens now. Especially the sustained protests we have seen of late.
