THE WENGER THREAD
Re: THE WENGER THREAD
According to DT, Ozil wasn't injured but there is some sort of major issue between him/Sanchez and Giroud. Some kind of falling out hence why he had a convenient last minute injury.
Re: THE WENGER THREAD
The low expectations are on display again. Wenger seems almost ecstatic, yet we only drew. And Giroud has 'answered his critics'. Which makes no sense, because the season is one game form finishing and he has scored a measly 13 league goals. Aguero looked shattered after the game, yet he has 24 league goals. This is why we havent won the league in recent times, and City have. Aguero holds himself and his club to the highest of standards - a 24 league goal season is not good enough if its not enough to lead his team to the top. Whilst we have Giroud cupping his hear, and jumping about, when he has only scored 13 league goals and his 15 game goalless streak was a major reason for why our title challenge fell apart. If Aguero went 15 league games without a goal, and City fell of the pace because of it - he would hate himself for it.
Giroud's lack of awareness is incredible. And whats worse, he will be allowed to get away with it. Wenger wont bring the hammer down on Giroud's failure. Wenger backed Giroud at the start of the year, Giroud let him down - Wenger looks the other way. Wenger is the kind of boss where you can get away with Fing about. Wenger is the boss you would surf the internet in-front of his face, of as opposed to working - because you know he is weak and you can get away with it.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
If he brought the hammer down on Giroud, he would mistakenly see it as a poor reflection on himself. Almost everyone would see it as strength, as a no nonsense approach, being assertive, not settling for mediocrity. Not him, Giroud has failed, but I backed him so lets all pretend he hasn't because it will look like I've failed, like I made a mistake. And it's ALL about me, everything is always about me, so lets all pretend Giroud is world class. It is so sad the mindset & defeatist attitude he has instilled in the club. From top to bottom.Wilson wrote:The low expectations are on display again. Wenger seems almost ecstatic, yet we only drew. And Giroud has 'answered his critics'. I hope Ozil & sanchez leave, they deserve better.

Think we are all going around in circles now, most reasoned observers should really see whats going on at the Club, trouble is most do not see it or worse are scared to acknowledge it......
Plain fact being this forums views are very much in the minority, with confiscation of banners and away fans fronting up to change its going to be difficult
At the Emirates it is even worse, he now seems to have a mandate to continue, read in one paper the TO1AW chant "was a moment of HONOUR"
He has also explained away Leicesters title win as saying (as expected) that clubs now have more money so it is now even argument, he is not stupid you will never win with this guy in charge, it really is going to be a case of beating your head against a wall

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
One of the arguments against the protests is that it lacks class or dignity. If that's the case, then just how lacking in dignity is abusing and/or attacking someone that displays a banner? Only anti-Wenger banners of course, the pro-Wenger ones are acceptable
To physically threaten one of your fellow supporters is disgusting.
That the club might even have a hand in this in some unofficial way is deeply disturbing. Corporate Arsenal do appear to be involved in getting protest banners confiscated or stopping TV cameras showing them if they're not. How very classy.
What should be being asked is why the fans who have shown a massive amount of patience now feel they are having to resort to the drastic measures of putting their own safety at risk because what they rightly want to happen isn't happening? Winning trophies or being competitive is something a club like Arsenal should be striving for every season. Are Arsenal really acting like a serious club in a competitive sport? Its getting harder and harder to take them seriously.
The facts are that the manager and players get Grade A wages. The fans pay Grade A ticket prices. At what point is anyone officially going to accept the club is failing if the team do not produce a Grade A performance over the course of a season to match this?
It feels like the club has been hijacked.
We lost our home ground and then got sold out to an owner who should never have been allowed near the club. Kroenke openly admits that he is only in it for money and not glory. He is a parasite and a leach, feeding off the passion of the working man.
The manger, a despicable fraud and compulsive liar, is even worse. He has effectively stolen Arsenal and claimed it as his own. He has taken root at the club. I dont think it is too dramatic to accuse Wenger of theft. Certainly he has robbed the genuine fans of hope.
Too many of the players are paid many times what they are worth and will not risk losing that by speaking out against the ambitions of the club. In turn, contract extensions are commonplace, despite failure. How many extensions has Walcott had while making absolutely no progress whatsoever?
And then there are the fans, of which a sizeable number on one side of the divide are increasingly not acting like real fans. More like some kind of programmed drones who do not want to think for themselves. There is no final straw with this lot and they are not going anywhere.
All this is strangling the club.
Arsenal are the biggest corporate
in football. Next season this nonsense is going to carry on. I can't think of one other club to compare us to.
Watching some of the clips in the stands yesterday, I just cannot see any way the split among the fans will not last even after Wenger has gone.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
How despicable is this. I kid you not, if it were possible the club would bring criminal charges against anybody who they thought was a protester, anybody that did not support the Wenger Dream.
A dispute broke out between Gunners fans during Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Manuel Pellegrini's side this weekend over the treatment towards their manager.
Arsenal fans clashed in the Etihad Stadium away end during their encounter with top-four rival Manchester City on Sunday, after an argument over a banner denouncing head coach Arsene Wenger.
The French boss has come under scrutiny from a small portion of fans in recent weeks, with a selection of the north London faithful voicing their frustration against West Brom at the end of April.
However, despite a select few criticizing Wenger's running of the club, the overall majority of Gunners fans appear to support the long-serving boss, resulting this week in an ugly scene against their Champions League rival away from home.
A banner reading: "Arsene, thanks for the memories but it's time to say goodbye" was the catalyst for the scuffle, with the main protagonist seen turning round and confronting other fans sitting behind him in the stands.
Officials on duty had already removed several other banners which the group had attempted to sneak into the ground to put on display.
However, despite Arsenal sending its own stewards to the Etihad to prevent any further disruption, the supporter groups managed to unveil their banner attacking Wenger to the annoyance of the surrounding fan base.
One key member of the group was later escorted from the stadium following on from the altercation as Arsenal twice came from behind to save a point and further cement its top-four credentials.

Where is this report from? Could have been written by Wenger himself...Actually when reading it it sounds like a Pathe News newsreel that you would see in WW2 documentarys..Just needed a group of AKBs shouting " three cheers for Arsene " at the end.xisstential wrote:How despicable is this. The fact that the bloke also plays his reserve keepers in FA Cup finals now when he didn't back in the day underlines how much perspective and ambition he has lost.
You list great managers and whilst they have different styles and different personalities, I guarantee that you'll find they all value winning at all costs.
