That's the bit that I have never seen satisfactorily substantiated.
We have a trade deficit with them , i.e We buy more than we sell so financially they will be worse off, not to mention when we stop filling their bank account they will be short of a lot of cash which a number of the receivers will not be prepared or even able to make up.
Sorry I can't see it.

This is why the people voted for Brexit and Trump was elected. The arrogant, sneering, condescension of the left has become unbearable for most.

"Today, institutions fundamental to the British system of Government are under attack
the public schools, the house of Lords, the Church of England, the holy institution of Marriage, even our magnificent police force are no longer safe from those who would undermine our society, and it's about time we said 'enough is enough' and saw a return to the traditional British values of discipline, obedience, morality and freedom.
What we want is
Freedom from the reds and the blacks and the criminals
Prostitutes, pansies and punks
Football hooligans, juvenile delinquents
Lesbians and left wing scum
Freedom from the niggers and the Pakis and the unions
Freedom from the Gipsies and the Jews
Freedom from leftwing layabouts and liberals
Freedom from the likes of you"
Power in the darkness
Frightening lies from the other side
Power in the darkness
Stand up and fight for your rights

Theresa May has come across this week as more arrogant and sneering than any politician than I can remember in my lifetime.
The "left" are the only ones trying to stand up against what is and will be a brutal erosion of living standards in this country.

How naive do you have to be to not understand the people who label anyone they disagree with on Brexit as a racist, xenophobe, little Englander nutjob? ALL coming from the remainers which funnily enough are 99% left leaning.
The rest of us are sick and tired of being lectured by quasi Marxists and leftists in the media, academia and in government.

Once again Rob you are making a huge assumption. Prove to me that there will be a brutal erosion of living standards in this country. Or prove that our living standards won't actually improve. Either will do.

Socialists, people who have nothing and want to share it with me
Tories, people with everything who don't want to share it with me
Liberals, those who sit on the fence and sneer at everyone else but can't string a single cohesive idea of their own together.....
Ooops, forgot Nationalists, bunch of idiots who hate everything and everyone not exactly the same as them (this includes English, Welsh, Scots & Irish Nationalists in the UK)
What a fcuking choice eh
We elect politicians, who we believe are going to do the best for our country and at the end of the day they don't, they spend the majority of the time towing the party whip and bickering with each other like kids in a schoolyard

Can't speak for the presidential election but the smug attitude that "we're obviously right" is why the Remain campaign lost.
People obviously held serious concerns about uncontrolled EU immigration. But instead of actually trying to engage with those, the Remain campaign just peddled out the old line about immigrants bringing a net benefit and often sought to portray anybody with concerns abouT immigration as intolerant. All that happened is voters because more wary about what they may say to friends but the campaign did nothing to allay their concerns.
Not once did I hear anybody try to grapple with how a net immigration figure of about 330k a year was either desirable or sustainable.
The irony is that many of these working class traditional Labour heartlands are some of the areas which have been impacted least by the surge in EU immigration over the last decade or so. There are barely any Eastern European immigrants living in the South Wales valleys and dying industrial centres compared to the UK generally; yet after the 5 most affluent local authorities in Wales every single one of the other 22 voted to leave.

Sorry I can't see it.
Isn't it funny that the Brexit argument is that the UK doesn't need the EU because we can find other markets.
Well going on that logic the 27 EU countries can find other markets too!!
I am telling you again, the EU 27 will continue to tell you - Brexit is going to be a disaster for the Uk. Wake up!!

More arrogant and sneering than any politician you can remember? Seriously? You don't even have to leave our shores; Blair, Salmond, Brown, Cameron, Balls, Heath, Sturgeon ........... we've a long and proud tradition of arrogant, sneering politicians. May doesn't yet deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as those goliaths of international cuntery.
And further afield; you've heard of Trump, Junker, Berlusconi, Putin .... ?
