THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Suppose they've got an axe to grind just like Stuart Robson or maybe they're just telling the truth at last?

Tbf charlie nick didnt say a whole lot against him but merse was more critical than I have ever seen him :o
The thing that gets right on my tits is that they are all saying (apart from merse) that wenger knows that the squad/team isnt as good as it was or good enough but nobody is bothering to point out that these sub-standard shite players were all recruited and trained by wenker so the responsibility lies with him and him alone   :banghead: :banghead:

Yea, Merse was more critical of Wenger directly. Criticising his substitutions and lack of tactics, plan b.
Charlie was a little more careful saying wengers squad wasn't good enough. But it was obvious who he was getting at and you get the feeling he'd love to say more but just stops short of saying Wenger is finished.

Merson has been criticising Wenger for years, just without explicitly mentioning him. He harped on throughout the 09/10 season that we didn't have a hope in hell's chance of winning the league with such a poor keeper, and was proved right, as well as numerous other points that many on here have been saying for years. He just didn't have the stones to lay the blame on Wenger, it's always a vague criticism of 'the club'.

There's been a bit of a transition this season though from people saying Arsenal lack this and that, and Arsenal need to do this and Arsenal's policy on this is shocking, to realisation that Wenger is behind everything at the club and therefore is at fault.

I have a feeling that something MIGHT and I mean MIGHT happen once we are out of all cups. The earliest that will be is March, once Bayern thrash us at their place. Even if Swansea were to stick 20 past us tomorrow, there would still be the bollox about being in the Chumps League. I think the club are starting to get the feeling however, that the long run of years without a trophy is now becoming an embarrassment, linking us with failure and that the exodus of players, shillyshallying with Walcott and the debacle at Bradford have all hammered home the truth about Arsenal FC in 2013.

But we're almost always out of everything by March so why the fuck should it be different this time. You're forgetting the imaginary 5th cup that we play for - only when we're truly out of that one will anything even resembling change occur, and I suspect Lord Wenger would still get a new contract if he made Kroenke money in the Summer anyway

the good thing though SteveO is that at long last the media have realised and as someone mentioned in a thread a while back that the emporer really is wearing no clothes,Wenker is feeling pressure like never before, gotta be a good thing even if he is like a massive turd that just wont flush, you know eventually it will be gone :barscarf:

RVP has 20 goals already this season. Has to be Wenger's worst ever sale

People who say Wenger didn't have an option on Van Persie are wrong. He did and he decided to sell

Totally agree Wenger was put in v difficult position because of contract and statement but he must privately regret pushing the sell button

watching the RVP late show tonight i had a horrible flashback to when i was 7 years old watching Stapleton,i just couldnt understand why he was playing for United when he was an Arsenal man,its been 32 years since i felt like that, that horrible sinking feeling that indeed we are just also rans not fit to carry the worlds greatest players any longer and that even hardened Arsenal players feel the need to move on,ive gotta admit that the sell of RVP is hurting like hell tonight,WENKER WHY DONT YOU JUST FUCK OFF YOU SENILE OLD *word censored*! :banghead:

Yea, Wenger, the professor. The ever so smarter than everyone, millionaire Arsenal manager.
How he presided over this, allowed this to happen really has to be the worst ever.

There are so many, many lows. But Jesus Christ, this is awful.

Is that like another "virtual trophy"? :barscarf:
