THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Maybe Im missing the fucking point here but even if we do claim the Virtual trophy for 4th place we would still have to play in the CL qualifying round.

With the level of shitness we have in the team at the moment and the more than likely annual departure of our best players in the summer, is it not possible that we could be dumped out on our arses before we even get to the group stages.
Thus there would be no money for Silent Stan and the Virtual trophy would mean fuck all- surely that level of embarrassment would lead to the removal of ODL?

Imagine that eh, champagne corks popped in the boardroom over the summer at securing the hallowed 4th place trophy and then getting turned over by the team that finished 3rd in the Swiss League.

It's not a given. But it's a seeded draw and last August we were in the shittest place we've been under Wenger and played a supposedly dynamic and dangerous team and beat them. Yes we were lucky (no idea how we kept a clean sheet at home and great penalty save) but that's the most difficult it's going to get, more likely than not we'll have to play some half-rate Swiss team or something.

No doubt its in the contract that we get a bonus when they win a trophy/trophies  The port and cigar brigade are probably happy as fuck that hes doing so well :banghead:
Is that like another "virtual trophy"? :barscarf:
Its awful to watch :banghead: like you say Arsole has made numerous fuck ups but this is his worst by a country mile :banghead: The absolute worst team he could sell that *word censored* to was them :banghead:

Arsole knows though :barscarf:

“We don’t have a big gap between what our players earn at Arsenal,” “We are more a socialist model and vulnerable because of that.

“We have something that is defendable in front of every single player. We make exceptions, but the exceptions are maybe not as high as elsewhere.

“We have an amount of money that is dedicated to wages. Within that we try to do things that make sense and are defendable.”

Dont think Arsenal will ever recover from losing Van Persie and seeing him become the best player in the Prem second year in a row for our enemy.

Over the last 18 months he could have signed Cahill , Mata , Ba and kept RVP , instead we get forehead and that big girls blouse up front and give improved contracts to Djorrou (2012) , Ramsey and injury prone Gibbs :banghead:
