THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I mention it as a point of consistency. Thats the whole point of why we Arsenal fans are looked at with disdain in the football community by wanting Wenger out.
He's still respected as he delivers consistently a top 4 league team, last 16 CL team. He's done it whilst continually regenerating the team.
I'm not defending him, just stating what we've got as some on here are so obsessed with hatred for the man, they overlook the facts of why he's still got a job. He's not doing a bad job, he's just not doing the job a lot of fans want him to be doing.

Chambers might head out on loan. So a 16m defender is going out on loan. What a luxury to be able to spend 16m on a non-essential player. Almost as luxirious of paiyng Arteta 80k a week without blinking. Yet, some still think Wenger operates 'on a budget'.

Its now becoming an insult to repeat that line. An insult to truth - how can that line of defence allowed to be used, when its just blatantly false?

Chambers should be loaned out - he massively lacks experience. Although he needs to figure out what position he's going to play first - RB for me.

I don't have an issue with loaning out a 16m signing.

I do have an issue with keeping him two years, sapping all his confidence and watching his game regress and then loaning him out.

For the salary he is receiving he is doing a terrible job. What makes his "efforts" truly despicable is that he NEVER uses words like "not good enough or unacceptable"..... instead he spins his mediocrity as genius and keeps telling us how lucky we are. And the idiots buy it!!

Wenger is in denial. One of my favorite tv shows is Gordon Ramsey's kitchen nightmares. And I swear to god, watching these hapless restaurateurs defend the quality of their food against Ramsey's disgust, is just like watching Wenger defending his 'record' in Europe, and string of 4th places finishes.

The ones that admit their failures, and listen to Ramsey's advice tend to do well. But those who cannot admit short comings simply repeat the same mistakes. Guess which one Wenger is.

I don't imagine he left the handbrake on that night. He was probably a bit jaded in the morning though.

Great analogy mate.

Ramsey is not a likeable bloke but by Christ does he make sense. Watching him skewering self important restaurant owners is painful but fun. Some of them are so deluded and in denial.

If only he did football clubs!! I'd love to see him shove Wenger's head down the bog
