And what's the point of mentioning consistently finishing top 4 if you aren't on about CL qualification?

I mention it as a point of consistency. Thats the whole point of why we Arsenal fans are looked at with disdain in the football community by wanting Wenger out.
He's still respected as he delivers consistently a top 4 league team, last 16 CL team. He's done it whilst continually regenerating the team.
I'm not defending him, just stating what we've got as some on here are so obsessed with hatred for the man, they overlook the facts of why he's still got a job. He's not doing a bad job, he's just not doing the job a lot of fans want him to be doing.

The football community? What does that actually mean?
Personally I couldn't give a fuck what anybody outside of arsenal fans think about the arsenal
We are the ones that know what is acceptable for our club and a manager who is not doing his best for the club to be the best they can be is not now and never has been acceptable for arsenal fc
People did not wake up one morning and decide to hate wenger
I don't and never can hate wenger but he has had more than enough time to put things wrong that are not right
I used to believe him unwilling to make said changes now I believe him unable
To that end he should have been told thanks arsene but we are taking a different direction 5 years ago
I speak as someone who saw us finish 4th in 1980
I can remember little of that league campaign but I remember every one of those semi finals v liverpool, the west ham final. Going pot house indoors when vaessen scored at juventus and the heartbreak of losing on penaltys to Valencia in the heysal.
That's what gets you thru the gate
The lust for trophys and everyone associated with this great club needs that lust
4th 3rd 2 nd was nowhere then and it's still nowhere
