If we get Vardy & Mahrez for 50 odd Mil, plus 30 for Xhaka means we can get a CH for another 30 odd, offload the plethora of deadwood for around 30mil, meaning we have done everything we needed to for around 70 - 80 mil.

The irony is if he actually does go ahead and do it and we have success next season Wenger will get all the credit. The credit should really go to those who have kicked off and refused to put up with his shit for any longer. You watch the idiot AKB's shoving it in our faces, too stupid to realise that without the banners & the protests, Wenger would have sailed serenely on......
While I would like to think that, I am not convinced this is Wenger reacting to criticism or dissent. He is too arrogant for that and I do not think the protests were vitriolic enough to force change.

The season even ended with smiling faces and children running round the pitch

If Wenger is changing strategy for his final season (and please God it will be his final season) I think it's because he wants to go out on a high - which would be further evidence of how selfish and egotistical he is. All those years he has imprisoned us with his unnecessary policies and philosophies, then when it suits him (not us), he abandons it.

Any success next season resulting from a long overdue change of approach should shame Wenger and the club. They should on their fucking knees weeping at the wasted years. But we all know Wenger and his legions will bask in the glory without a hint of remorse about 12 years without a title challenge.

Personally I would much prefer success to come in the first season under a new manager rather than the last season under Wenger because I want to enjoy it if it comes. I detest Wenger too much to enjoy anything he is involved in.

I really don't think we'll sign anyone else this summer. Vardy will stay with LC.

I would love to see Marhez, Morata, and a central defender, but AW is running the ship so.....

From what we know about Wenger.........IMO really do not think protests have any affect on Wenger, that is to vastly underage the size of his EGO...if anything would make him more stubborn

Adopting the transfer policy of Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona and the two Manchester clubs isn't a bad thing. If you can't beat them, join them.
Whilst I have a few reservations about Vardy's age and suitability to our system, this policy of pinching players who have proved themselves off domestic rivals is tried and tested.

Look at United's strikers alone - how many trophies have they won partly thanks to Cole, Sheringham, Cantona, Berbatov, Rooney, van Persie etc?

It has the double benefit of carrying less risk of failure by buying a player with established record and also keeping smaller clubs like Newcastle, Spurs, Everton etc from nipping at the bigger clubs' heels.

Chelsea are apparently in for Morata now. They won't fuck around. They'll stump up the required cash and presto, he becomes a Chelsea player.

At £40m for Morata whose scored less goal than Giroud last season at the Italian champions, no wonder we went and made an offer of £20m for Vardy.
Real Madrid let him go cos the got James Rodriguez. Sounds like another Bojan type player. A cheeky £60m bid for Martial would be better as he looks like world class potential.
Or Pato wouldn't be too bad. Still looks like he has the quality.

As wally says the rest of Europe will be scared

He went for Suarez and failed, now has gone for Vardy. It means he cant not go back into the market if Vardy doesn't sign. Moving for two strikers is a de-facto admission he doesn't really trust Giroud. Wenger cant keep talking up Giroud when he has twice tried to sign two players to play infront of him.

I hope you're right, because the Vardy situation is looking less than certain at the moment.

However, there are only a few other strikers being mentioned and none of them look significant upgrades on Vardy, but will cost double or treble the 20mil.
Where are all the exciting 22 year olds strikers? Aubeymeng(?) is the youngest and he'll be 26. The rest are late 20s.

Thanks to Spain and the stupid, one-eyed coaches who suddenly saw the possession light, there are no young strikers or defenders, but there are hundreds of midfielders.
