Remains to be seen then whether he becomes one of the best average strikers in the best league of the world

No probs with him going on loan again but when he starts mouthing off crap like that then it makes me think that we should get shot of him - I will put my life on the fact that fcuk all of his wages are coming from "the best league in the world"

ATM I would like to see Melo, Inler or even Lass Diarra return as holding mid.

Oh, I wouldn't take it that seriously, augie.

No doubt it was just a casual remark said in excitement or to break the ice with the Betis fans or Spanish media. And anyway, when La Liga boasts the world's 2 best club sides (Real Madrid and Barcelona), some of the world's best players (Messi, Ronaldo, Xavi, Iniesta, Cesc, etc.), teams like Bilbao and Atletico Madrid who have done very well in the Europa Cup, and then throw in Spain being the best international team (ever?) with a squad largely based in La Liga, then I think it's hardly the most controversial comment he could have made.

He's a young lad, so although perhaps he shouldn't be suggesting La Liga is a better league than where his wages are being paid, I can't say it bothers me in the slightest really.

Agree, it just seems that Arsenal inflate the egos of these youngsters to the point where they all think they're maradonna but in reality are another Jeffers

In fairness this is not only an Arsenal problem, even manure had problems recently with a youngun who at 18 thought he was a world beater, it's a modern day disease in football

Was dead ages ago ,he isn't wanted in Russia after his ill timed words following Russia's abysmal collapse against the Greeks !

So that's 150,000 a week on the wage bill for another year a mere 7.8 million quid !

I'd be surprised if we bought such an expensive keeper. Not that I'd be upset. Chesney made quite a lot of mistakes last year and Id say although he has plenty of potential, he is far from the finished product

The guy is a total muppet and we're stuck with him unfortunately. No one will want to touch him with a barge pole. Time for him to knuckle down and start being useful to us as clearly, he won't be going anywhere this summer. :cussing:

Never hid the fact that I believe the ruskie is a genuine top tier talent but even I have long since aknowledged that it hasnt worked out with him and nor will it work in the future so a fresh start would have been mutually beneficial imo. However it doesnt look like it is gonna happen and only bears out what I have been saying for a long time now.......we will not get shot of the deadwood this summer :banghead:

Arshavin is a very talented player... and not injury prone either. Someone will always take a punt on that.
