These are probably some of the very few people in the game that can see through Wenger and are not blinded by money or the need to be cuddled by their manager. I'm talking about the absolute Alpha Dog world class players here - the few, the 5% maybe, that are driven purely by the need to win rather than the need to get rich. Sure they like to win, but it's a bonus, not the be all and end all for them. I personally think most footballers are not pure Alpha, they will go where they can earn the most in a short career, or where they are "comfortable", and all our current players are like that. Even Ozil and Sanchez to some extent. If they were truly pure Alpha and were motivated purely by that need to win they would be gone by now.

Look at Suarez for a good example of this. He delivered the goods for the Mousers, took a look at the team and manager and said "fuck this, I'm out of here". I'm not praising him for it, but it is a fact he is an Alpha player. But these top Alpha players are a very tiny minority in the game. The rest, the vast majority of players, are nowhere near that level and I would say they do view Wenger as a good manager.

At this point some gobshite will throw "but that's what VanJudasCunt did!" into the mix. Well, no gobshite, it's not. VanJudasCunt lay on his arse for 7 years before suddenly oh my God deciding he wanted to be Alpha. If that prick had done it 2 or 3 years into his time with us, I'd have applauded him for it - but then, what top team would have signed a perma-injured crock at that point? Oh yeah - no team. :censored:

The game in general accepts mediocrity too much nowadays. You get mediocre shite like Fat Sam, Pulis and Pardew hailed on shows like Goals on Sunday as "top class" managers. You see PL teams stuffed full of bang average players and the asking price for one of those average players is £20million.

As my colleague Rodders said, the fucking game is going to eat itself. :|
Maybe not so much as a good manager in general but a good manager for their specific/selfish needs. A reasonable chance of some silverware, in a big well respected team, CL every year, never really have to work your bollocks off and of course..... remuneration waaaay above what you are actually worth.

And as for the 2nd highlighted point.... isn't that us???

Pretty much agree what you say. Also, those "Aphas" tend to get rich just being what they are, absolute world class. Those players doesn't give a shit what some club has achieved decade ago, they will look what they have achieved the previous seasons. Look Zlatan for example, guy's old as fuck but he'll basically walk into any team and probably gets the financial package he wants.

Yep, deffo as in "good" for them, rather than "good" as a manager of a football team in the broader sense.

2nd bit = again, deffo. It's us to a tee.

Where is our youth talent. United would never have dominated without the boys of 92. We won 2 League titles because of our youth policy but that was in 1987. Anyone can buy buy buy. No quality in that but a youth policy is what makes a quality club. I'm sure Man United are buzzing from youth talent finally making its mark again.

Diego Simeone extends his contract at Atletico to 2020, @ £4.4m p/a.
He's waiting for us to go in for him.

Just a matter of time until Wenger claimed he nearly signed Payet

“Yes. Often. Very often, I have to say that I asked myself that question during my career. And I also have to say that I decided against it because he was not consistent. I have never doubted that he had enough talent to play in my team. I have been lucky enough in my club to always have very good players in his position and it was crowded!”

is there anyone he did not virtually sign ???

Yaya Sanogo...he actually signed him instead of some no mark named Mahrez.

You didn't have to wait long mate :D

Thank bloody god for that because the now past it Yaya Toure is leaving a gaping hole in our virtual midfield, so Payet will do just nicely in there.

Apparently he's far too inconsistent though.....which just wouldn't wash for us, alongside those models of consistency like Giroud, Walcott and Ramsey

The really funny bit of the article is the slideshow below..The games Arsenal fans are looking forward to next season..erm brownholings at Old Traffart and Chavski aren't games that Falkirk Goon is looking forward to

There you go most predictable news this week barring Rosicky injury of course......

Arsenal are ready to offer manager Arsene Wenger a new contract. The 66-year-old, who has one year left on his contract, will be offered a two-year extension. (Sunday Mirror)

Predictable but fucking depressing. Three more years. The catalyst for Ozil and Sanchez to reject new deals?

Yep, and all those ones that chanted his name and fought the banners can sit back and watch us finish 4th for the next three years.
