On a serious note apparently last summer when we had a few deadline day arrivals we still spent 90% of our resources on the day trying to ship players out on loan instead.

Monreal is better than Gibbs. It would be an incredible signing. If we get him we'd be sorted at LB for years and have arguably the best 2 left backs in the league, maybe even in the world behind Real Madrid who boast Marcelo and Coentrao.
