As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
On the off chance anyone happens to give a fuck, I sent an email to the AST asking if there were any planned protests or plans to bring up the blatant stagnation and lack of transfer activity at the next AGM - I received the following response:
Thank you for your email.
As you are not currently a member of the AST I am not in a position to answer any of the points you have raised however we do not endorse protests and if you were a member you would know we have covered the subgest of transfers and ambition many times with the club but at the end of the day the board at AFC leave transfers upto the Manager.
Gazidis convincing himself we have a chance of the Title.....
"These are all things that lead to success, and when you look at Arsenal over the last four or five years, there's no question that the squad has been progressing in strength.
"We've got a squad now that we believe is capable of competing to win the Premier League. We came in second last year, which was disappointing. But we're on the right track."
This season will surely be the one when the walls come crumbling down........

What happened to Gazidis's thinking that we will be at the same level as Bayern Munich a few years back? We are now where near on the playing field, where it counts the most. Why we left Highbury.
There is nothing wrong with bringing in rough diamonds and polishing them to shine but that has to be combined with signing the finished articles of the highest quality if you want to compete at the levels this club claims it does. For Gazidis to claim that this is happening whilst also flat out lying that we cannot compete financially is an insult to anyone with an ounce of sense who can see through all this.
Genuinely cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel with this bullshit.
There will be a brief glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel in May 2025 when Wenger steps down as manager. But that light will soon be revealed to only be the onrushing train that is him then stepping upstairs as Director of Football and CEO of all financial affairs.
Yep. I don't think I've ever gone into a season with such a feeling of despondency and hopelessness as I have for this upcoming season. It's just the same groundhog season shit every year now. It's all so predictable and boring and demotivating.
Essentially it's the fans actions that give the go-ahead to people like Gazidis to come out with bullshit like this. On twitter, the amount of fans I seen, defending Gazidis comments, even giving him credit. I seen comments like, "at least he doesn't want to over spend, when every other club is". I think some of our fans are comparable to conservatives in the U.S., who think that because their American, the country is perfect, and can do no wrong, as our fans think that every action undertaken by the club is the right one. Look at what happened with the protest against Wenger last season. This was a manager, who had blamed the fans for poor results, lashed out at ex players like Henry,( for even suggesting that the fans might have been angry when we lost to Swansea), and worse of all, he was the only manager to justify the extortionate ticket prices the fans are asked to pay. Despite all this, and the decade of under performing, he still received the backing from a large section of fans, on the day of the protest. We have the most passive and accepting fan base in Europe, and until that changes, there is zero incentive for Kroenke, and Gazidis to change.

I genuinely believe that will happen, whenever it does. The man just won't be able to let go. He will have to be carried out. The new manager/coach will be a yes man who would carry out Wengers orders. Trust the club to finally join the 22st century and use a DoF but hand the role to the dinosaur that is Wenger.
Within all this, the fact so many are still staunch Wenger and even defending Gazidis' comments probably means we could get relegated and thy would still back the regime. We are in the minority and effectively powerless.
I have such a feeling of despondency and helplessness about the club yet just can't tear myself away from it.

Hypothetical question......if a member was to set up a paypal account and was to start a thread on here looking for contributions for the purpose of hiring an assassin to execute an arrogant French crunt and a bald slimy smarmy clueless yank, would the forum member concerned be more likely to get thrown off this forum or be wealthy beyond his wildest dreams as contributions flood in ?
I'm not saying that I know a forum member considering this move, but it would be nice to know in case I hear of one

It's utter bollox. How does he define competing? Quite frankly, just by being in the league, 20 teams are competing for the title. I define competing for the title as either winning it or taking the fight down to the very last week of the season, not being realistically out of the title race by March, which we have been every year for the last 12 years. There is now way in the world that this squad with shit defenders, an average midfield and shit striking options is going to get anywhere near winning the league. There is Ozil and there is Sanchez, then there is the rest of them. Those two will lose patience with the dross around them and lose hope, their form will dip and they won't tolerate carrying the rest of the squad game after game. Add to that the fact that Wanker is also a terrible manager and the arrival of Pep and Conte, the return of Maureen and the motivation of Bilic and it's laughable to think Arsenal have even a sniff of a chance. You're right, this is the year when the walls, roof and floor all collapse. He has got away with it for too long and been too stubborn, arrogant and narcissistic to retire. I actually fucking hope to God that he gets what's coming. I want him driven out as a broken failure, plain for everyone to see. It's got to the stage where I now want the choruses of sacked in the morning ringing out and the old *word censored* being harangued in interviews. It's the only way out of all this.

You've got to be cruel to be kind - as someone once sang.
This season could supass the clusterfuck that saw us start a season with only 6 defenders.
We are so ill prepared we may have to crowbar In 6 central midfield players into our wonderful to watch, exciting formation.

It is so far beyond parody that I do laugh even though it is happening at our club.
And the reason you cannot see light at the end of the tunnel is because those in charge let the tunnel cave in for their own benefit. The way things are now is exactly how Wenger and the other despicable frauds intended them to be.
The decisions made were all quite deliberate. It isn't simply incompetence that has seen the club go in the direction it has gone in. It is corruption as well as abuse of power and trust.
Deceit, manipulation and bare-faced lies have got us here and things are not changing for the better any time soon.
But fuck it ... its Friday! Who gives a fuck about a dead club in a dying sport !

I agree mate, it appears that Arsenal have no intention of buying premier league ready players, but are content to buy young, inexperienced players "for the future"
This is what our transfer dealings will look like
I know it's like sacrilege, but seriously if things need to change Wenger needs to have his head RAMMED through his arse this season. I don't mean our periodic hammering, I'm talking about a couple of severe beatings every 6 weeks along with a string of other poor results.
How on earth can Gazidis come out with that shite?? We basically have the same team as last season and everybody else has strengthened. He is so FUCKING stupid he thinks that 2nd place means we are knocking on the door. We were second by TEN points. TO LEICESTER!!! MORON.
