THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Wenger told the Arsenal website. “We are very active on the transfer market but it’s a long time to go. Everybody has a handbrake on at the moment.

“It’s a little bit of a poker game until mid-August in my opinion. So we might have to be good at poker. We are very active, and if we find the right candidates we will spend big money.”

There is "no poker game or fucking handbrakes" just get the job done of signing a Striker and CB you senile old man :banghead:
:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

These ideas are only in his own head ffs and he's stupid enough to spout them out loud. In his own mind he's acting sneaky and and very cleverly waiting and "not showing his hand". The reality is that his hand is empty and he will be found out again and he goes and panic buys someone or no one.

Poker game? He really thinks hes so much smarter than everyone else.
Poker game my arse. Its about recognising glaring weaknessess in the squad and addressing them.

While he was playing "poker" and waiting for Higuains release clause to expire so he could put in a low-ball bid, Juve called his bluff and bought him fs.

The arrogance of someone who is so incompetent never ceaces to amaze me.

And then when he's finished waiting, when he releases the handbrake, everyone decent, who was available, will be gone.... then we'll hear that it's not his fault there is nobody good enough to "strengthen" our squad.

This is exactly how a dictator behaves because nobody, even though they might hate him, dares to question him, he is responsible & answerable to nobody.

Just think about how fucked up the environment is, that Wenger has surrounded himself in. Every moment at the club, he is surrounded by Yes men, who wont even slightly question him. Even Steve Bould, has no opportunity to offer any insight, other than put out the cones, and shut the fuck up. That's why he lashes out so easily at the media, for asking him routine questions. Then he comes out with bullshit like "I deserve more respect". The guy shows zero respect to anyone. Yet in this same environment, he is given complete authority on deciding the club's transfer strategy. This is no longer a football club, it's one man's ego project, and that isn't changing any time soon.

There is "no poker game or fucking handbrakes" just get the job done of signing a Striker and CB you senile old man :banghead:

Mid August - The Season has already started u stupid fucking dickhead.

If he thinks he needs to sign someone for the coming season - why wait til after the season has started to do it. Is it to save on the few weeks wages, Is it so he can get them cheaper by low balling as it gets closer to deadline day.

What does very active mean - allegedly we were going to be very active in the January transfer window where we went into it top and were out of the title race in early March having only signed 1 player who wasn't deemed good enough to get into the team until we had a few injuries.

HANDBRAKE  :D   :?  :blah: :cussing: :box:  :x :barscarf:

We seem to do our transfers on the cheap and in a slipshod manner but when it comes to fleecing us customers - then everything seems to be done expertly to maximise efficiency, productivity and $$$$. When it comes to facilities, hospitality, paying wages to dross, buying players for the "future" we cannot be faulted.

When it comes to us "customers" paying - we are asked to pay top dollar the most anywhere in the land but when it it comes to transfers we are told that we can't compete with the "Top Clubs" and are told to settle for second best. The problem is we don't even go for second best either.

Anyone that thinks he'll be gone at the end of the season needs their head examined. The reason why he signs the short contract extension is so he can renegotiate a pay increase on the back of the profits generated in the previous extension.

HANDBRAKE :barscarf: :barscarf:

Poker - the wanker wouldn't win a game of snap with a bunch of five year olds

Bring back David Dein or anyone that can get someone to sign that hasn't already contacted us letting us know that they are wanting to sign for us.

On top of this we have the coward of the county aka - The Big Ducking German, Merteslacker, The Big German Vagina questioning our transfer policy. Well Mr Oil Tanker - yes u r correct but if we had a manager that was actually aware of ur concerns - u would never have an Arsenal jersey on ur yellow back again. But because of the manager we have u will probably be wearing the armband next year.

HANDBRAKE - has to be on a wind up. If so :bowing21: it worked with me. If not :heads:

We will sign nobody of any significance, will stumble on until January, ocassionally flattering to deceive, sign nobody again in that transfer window, then get binned out of the League Cup,F.A. Cup and C.L. in quick succession, and finally achieve another "valiant" 4th place, so satisfying the board and the A.K.B's in one hit.
That will be our season in a nutshell. Save yourself some dosh and don't bother either actually going to watch the debacle, or pay to view it on sky etc. :banghead:
