Oxlaide-Chamberlain is currently having a medical at Arsenal,(SSN).
This is not what we thought was meant by "big signings"!!!

Also Diarra at the spuds doing the same.
Lassana Diarra?
Yeah.

I couldn't give a damn about signing the Ox!
By the time he's anywhere near good enough we'll be out of the CL and fighting for 6th/7th in the PL. This is absolutely ridiculous, our defence is shit and we've signed one, almost two attacking players? It's a fucking farce, managed by the incompetent negligent *word censored* who supposedly manages our club!

Hey don't you be forgetting Carl Jenkinson. He can play anywhere across the back line......a point he's been able to demonstrate well in 8 League One appearances before almost being loaned out to Eastbourne Borough

(mind you - he's still far better than fucking Squillaci)

Yeah.
And there will be more than a few eating humble pie around these parts when Diarra proves to be one of the best midfielders in the PL next season. That will be an amazing signing for the Spuds if they get him

Yes, I'd definitely take this....Johnson is a quality player
Absolutely - a natural left footer too. If this happened it would be a great deal for us IMO

Well as you say, no idea what the Source of that rumour is but I would say yes, take it. Johnson is good, if a little slow.

As for Lassana Diarra, why would anyone say he is definitely a bad signing for Spurs?
He was a good player for us and for Chelsea, he left because of his tempermental character not because of his playing ability.
If Spurs can keep him happy rather then he could be very good for them.

Diarra is good, but no better than Palacios who they are selling to Stoke.

always said he's quality
although when he got his chance for us away at Middlesbrough he disappeared

also if he has a good season for Sperz he will immeidiately agitate for a move to a bigger club

I accept that, and maybe I am guilty of stereotyping here, but I feel we really need some of that tough resiliant german mentality in this team - some may say that mertesacker is slow but he certainly is no slower than samba and he brings far more experience to the team both internationally and in the champs league.
I think Merte' would be a revelation at the club; I'm another big fan of his potential signing and have been for a while.

Not only that, on a personal level, he seems quite humble; it's impressive he's been at Werder for so long, despite their struggles in the last few years.
The plot thickens.

Bild is like The Sun in England. But next year Merte could leave Werder for free.
Last year he had his worst season. He has to fight to get his place in the national team (Badstuber, Boateng, Hummels, Höwedes, Friedrich are strong contenders as CB). This weekend he looked sharp (he´s also the new Werder skipper!). He is not world class (too slow) but he would strengthen the squad.

Agreed!
One of Madrids best players. Sadly wasn't prepared to wait behind Flamini and Gilberto....the 3 ended up going by the end of the season.

The bit that worries me is the fact that he is available on a free next year, you can guess what I think will happen. Our CB problem will be solved this time next year
