I knew he'd use the fact that we won the league last season an excuse for not strengthening this year."if you look at who is spending the most money in Europe, they didn't win the leagues"

The man is a fucking parody of himself these days. PISS OFF

Found something i actually agree with Wenger on.......crazy prices of players now......Pogba to Man Utd at around £92 million

Le bumhole talking out of his bumhole yet again
the man is a fucking embarrassment
All of the cockholes who stood up for him last season should take a good hard look in the mirror, our current situation is as much their fault as le bumholes

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
I think your giving them too much credit. If anything, they will dig their heels in further, at any suggestion their leader has done anything wrong. You should see some of the comments on twitter from AKB'S. They come out with things like "Arsene will only sign someone, if he thinks it will improve the squad". As long as Wenger is here, there will always be AKB'S.falkirk goon wrote:Le bumhole talking out of his bumhole yet againthe man is a fucking embarrassment

So he is saying, in effect, those other clubs are attempting to better their team / squad because they were not happy with their standing last season ?rodders999 wrote:I knew he'd use the fact that we won the league last season an excuse for not strengthening this year."if you look at who is spending the most money in Europe, they didn't win the leagues"![]()

They are actually trying to.improve, not content to tred water ?
What a novel idea, but it will never catch on will it ?
Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Not sure where else to put this story, but...
We (along with the other big clubs) have rejected the chance to put our U21 side in the new version of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. I suppose this idea of having PL U21 sides in this trophy was a replacement for the 'B teams in lower leagues' idea that was nixed.
I have to say that I think it's a gutless decision from us. No doubt the club think they are 'better' than that and also want to protect the utter fallacy that we have a good U21/youth team.
It would have been interesting to see how our U21s would have done. Would they have surprised us, or would there have been more Borehamwood and Luton-style capitulations?

You're an apologist for him, you just don't want to come across as a full blown one.
I've asked you this before ..... what part are we going to miss, we know before it happens what is GOING to happen!!! Here it is again...... One favourite in the group, ourselves, then 2 lesser teams... underestimate the lesser teams, after 3 games suddenly find ourselves in desperate trouble, all hands to the pump, smiles & gloating all round as we beat teams like Olympiacos 3-0 ("everybody, even Barca will be scared of us now")
to go through in second place. Draw one of the big guns in the next round and go out by at least 2 clear goals over the 2 legs. Year in year out with the fans blithely accepting being completely outclassed because it's Barca, Real, Athletico..... etc,etc... We don't expect to compete because after all, it's Barca, Real, Athletico....................
So again I'll ask you.... what part are we going to miss??? And it won't be the money, because we never see the fruits of that on the pitch either.[/quote]
In answer to your question, we won't know until he has gone and his replacement has completed a full season.
I'm not an apologist for Wenger I was merely pointing out, as a club we've achieved a level of consistency that is unparalleled by anyone in English football league history.
There are better manager's than Wenger, but they are short term, high impact manager's. I would love to see Mourinho and Guardiola at the same club for 10-15 years.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Ok Nos89, you tell me which scenario you would want if given the choice -
1. We finish top 4 and qualify for champions league first knockout every season of the next decade
OR
2. We only qualify for champs league 4 times in the next decade, BUT that we also win 3 league titles in that time
If you pick option one then you need to have a real look at yourself and ask yourself what drew you to become an Arsenal fan in the first place.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Nos you may not be an AKB but you are showing exactly what is wrong with a large number of our fans, you are scared of change and would rather have the consistent level we currently have than gamble in an attempt to win trophies.
Me i'm on the other side of the fence, i'm sick of the consistent non-successful seasons in terms of trophies and i'm more than willing after all this time to take a gamble, we'd be no different from nearly every other team out there who move on when things stagnate rather than stick our heads in the sand but each to their own

Oh dear.......Nos89 wrote: I'm not an apologist for Wenger I was merely pointing out, as a club we've achieved a level of consistency that is unparalleled by anyone in English football league history.

Please compare Man Utd's trophy haul during Wenker's reign to ours
(hint, theirs includes 2 Champions League victories and several more league title wins)
Also look at Liverpool's domination during the late 70's to late 80's again they were multiple champions of Europe with an astonishing haul of domestic trophies.
During the 1930's The Arsenal won the title 5 times and the FA cup twice (then the war got in the way)
I would happily take any of the above over finishing 4th / 3rd / 2nd a record number of times.
And, what the hell is wrong with a short-term high impact manager ?
Sounds ideal to me, no stagnation of tactics and bored players. hearing the exact same teamtalk for years on end instead a fresh approach, new players with hunger to prove themselves, win things.
btw, sorry to be picking your recent posts to bits, but they scream out to me that you are defending him out of a misplaced loyalty just because he is Arsenal manager (an employee of the club)l rather than through agreement of his current methods or recent record.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
I'd rather finish 10th without Wanka than 4th with him. At least then you might see some actual change around the fucking place. The whole football club has become institutionalised under him, time for root and branch reform. I hope it all goes to shit this season, I'll take so much delight if it all turns toxic on the fucker, by God he deserves it.

Wenger picking up £8.3 million a year, Walcott on £7.25 million and Sanogo on £1.5 million.Redarmy wrote:Found something i actually agree with Wenger on.......crazy prices of players now......Pogba to Man Utd at around £92 million

Now that really is crazy!
