Is it just me or did he look slightly more broken tonight ?

Often I think he looks tetchy but tonight the eyes were bloodshot and he was hesistating before he gave every answer. I think there is a slow recognition starting to set in that his project is collapsing around him. God, I do hope so.

from bbc sport : Arsene Wenger didn't bother to shake hands with Mark Hughes at the final whistle. He has just been asked about it, and the Arsenal boss responded: "I'm free to shake hands with whoever I want."

Might be a blessing in disguise. I'd rather Song missed our home game against Stoke, than Liverpool or Burnley away the following week

Nah he was smoking a fat joint during the game that's why. Still worried though... when is he going to come down?

I've got a feeling that resignation is creeping in to his thoughts.....

You never know, he's interviews, both pre-match and post, are horribly all the same. Eve he must get fed up saying the same old things, that we've all been hearing over the last few seasons.

Edit... reminds me, reading the Denilson interview in The Standard today, and he even mentions the famous ''mental strength'' words, even the players seemed to be brainwashed... :?

When we're out of everything, we'll go on some sort of 10 - 15 game unbeaten run against no-hopers

Just looking at the fixtures - between 27 Jan and 10 Feb, we have Villa (a), United (h), Chelsea (a), Liverpool (h). That will be the period when we really are out of the league - more than 20 points behind.

But straight after it our run might be

FA Cup 5th round - could be at home to any old shite
Champions League Last 16 - some proper shite in 2nd place in the Groups so we could breeze this
Sunderland
Stoke
Burnley
Champs League 2nd leg
Hull
West Ham
Birmingham
Champs Lge QF (might beat anyone who isn't English)
Wolves
Champs Lge QF2
Spurs (no matter how shit we are we don't lose to them)
Wigan

So I'm prepared for an over-hyped 14 game unbeaten run before inevitable collapse against Man City, and CL semi

After which Wenger will claim that the unbeaten run proves he is right to give this team another chance

Yawn, yawn, yawn. Which year is it - could be anywhere between 2006 and 2009

WE all knew we were not going to win that game tonight - the gulf in quality and experience on the pitch but when you compared the subs benches it was fcuking frightening
What has annoyed me most was the poor performances of those that I expected better from -

fabinski 6 out of 10. Cant blame him for any of the goals. Handling looked assured. Came for one cross and claimed it brilliantly and came for the 2nd cross and was nowhere.

eboue 3 out of 10. The 3 was for his attacking play. Zero for his defensive play and attitude.

traore 4. SWP tore him a new arsehole tonight and he simply aint good enough.

song & tweety. 7. Tbh I thought they did ok considering the shambles either side of them and protection in front of them was non existent.

Wilshire & merida. 4 They were woeful. Too lightweight for this level and given his age and contract situation you would have to wonder whether merida will ever be physically strong enough for this league. Wilshire's touch tonight was poor and was thrown about like a ragdoll but as arsene says it will be a great learning experience for him  Get him out on loan now arsene

ramsey and rosicky. 4 Ball retention was shocking and far too often they choose the wrong option. Song's yellow card was totally down to ramsey pulling out of a tackle with ireland.

eastmond. Too lightweight but ball retention quite good. Get him out on loan too arsene.

vela 7. The one brightspot of the night for me. In the 1st half he showed well, linked the play up well with his midfielders and always looked dangerous. 2nd half supply non existent

wenger himself 2 out of 10. I said earlier that he should have given some of the older guys like denilson and theo run outs for fitness reasons but accepting that he was going to play the kids I still think the subs bench should have been stronger. His refusal to shake the taff *word censored* hand is a fcuking disgrace though and ivan had better let him know that too.

Ref was a *word censored* tonight and let them away with blue fcuking murder but we got what we deserved

took us where?,a quarter final after beating the might of west brom and a shocking liverpool team going through a period when they would have lost to 11 mops.

they took us nowhere.
They got beat tonight by a premier league team. The majority of them have very little experience at this level. So I'm not disappointed.
now that is a shock
Don't worry Arsene is going nowhere 8) So I'm a happy bunny :D
So are the fans of Chelsea and Man Utd who have nothing to worry about as long as he is our manager

It's wrong of me to quote a previous thread back at people isn't it?

We took a second string side to Man City, one of the richest clubs in England and with only one defeat in the league, what did you guys expect? I was livid at seeing Song and Traore play since we have no cover for them if they got suspended or injured. I'm fine with using a mixture of squad players who need games and blooding youngsters, keeps the first team fresh for more important things while giving experience and opportunity to shine to those behind them.

All I wanted was for the team to go out and compete. We more or less did that till late on after our initial surge at 1-0 down faltered and we became too open at the back. We needed to be a bit more composed on the ball as well at times, Ramsey in particular disappointed me with that.

Pleased with: Fabianski, Silvestere, Rosicky (moment of idiocy aside), Wilshire, Vela, Traore second half

Disappointed with: Song, Eastmond, Merdia, Ramsey, Traore first half

Furious with the first goal, while it was level City might have got nervous and we got a goal on the break. You need your experienced players to help but Rosicky, Eboue and Song were dreadful for their part in that goal, I expect so much better from all three of them

I knew you'd see sense Augie. As over hyped as Walcott (nothing to do with being British of course)

Still everyone wants him in the side so now we'll see - no Song or Diaby against Stoke, so another chance to see Ramsey get bounced around and give the ball away endless times
