Re: Cesc to return?
I just wished cesc stayed for 1 more year, instead of abandoning us when we lost so many players.

But if he'd stayed one more year he would have gone in the same summer as RvP...spendsum4uckingmoney wrote:I just wished cesc stayed for 1 more year, instead of abandoning us when we lost so many players.

Impossible.......no big club could sell Cesc and rvp in the same transfer window and still class themselves as a big club

As for him returning to Arsenal, he belongs to an era I would rather forget but I wouldn't say no to it.
Don't mean to go off topic but was that era really so bad? Sure we didn't win anything but we played some bloody good football and at least managed to keep our season going into march/april most times. I highly doubt when I'm old and grey that I'll consider that a particular low point in my arsenal supporting career. If I do then it's nothing but success for the next 40 years

Re: Cesc to return?
ahh poor cesc, all not going well in barca
the same cesc who had so many hamstring injuries the last year at arsenal and none since, fucked off to a grand prix while the team he was captain of was playing and forced a transfer , yeah poor cesc .

Re: Cesc to return?
Exactly, fuck him, I can honestly see Barca slipping back to where they were 10 years ago. And I bet the "barca loving" cesc will jump that ship too if the opportunity presents itself.REB wrote:ahh poor cesc, all not going well in barcathe same cesc who had so many hamstring injuries the last year at arsenal and none since, fucked off to a grand prix while the team he was captain of was playing and forced a transfer , yeah poor cesc .

The Fabregas era was the one where many became disillusioned and angry at the club like never before. The whole Emirates / Wenger project thing and the quest to go commercial and become a corporate success has seen us lose so much that we loved.
Its the lowest time in our history in my eyes and games from the post Highbury era leave me cold in comparison to the past. Not because we haven’t won anything but because we are unrecognisable from the club we once were. Just comparing what we are now to some of the posts on that excellent History thread that is running at the moment. What’s happened to us post 2006 is a massive regret.

I think this is a key point you’ve made REB.
It makes me laugh that RvP is a Judas c**t in some people’s eyes but Fabregas is portrayed as the opposite because he left on good terms and went returned to his boyhood club. The same one he decided to leave years previously.
And I wonder? Would the lure of Barcelona been so hard to turn down if they’d only been playing for get CL place in Spain like we were here? Or did the fact that they were the best team in the world have something to do with it?
If anything, I think the way Fabregas forced his move was worse than the way van Persie did. RvP didn’t sit out the last six weeks of his final season. RvP wasn’t half way through an 8 year deal. And he didnt f-ck off to a Grand Prix on a match day either. That was quite disgraceful and has been too easily forgotten and forgiven. If it was such a wrench for Cesc to leave Arsenal (as we’ve been told) you’d think he would have made the short trip to Fulham on that final day … even if he really was ‘’injured’’.
And although the RvP statement thing was cringeworthy, I kind of understand why he did it because after telling Wenger and Gazidis he was leaving in May, they asked him to keep it quiet until after the Euros. He did that, only to then see Wenger spouting off to the press well after the Euro’s was over that he was confident RvP would stay and that Giroud was bought to play with him. That must have pissed him off. It pissed me off!
I don’t blame either Cesc or RvP for leaving but if there is one thing I resent them both for … and it’s that they have continued to be supportive of Wenger since they fucked off. In other words it’s okay for them to move on to bigger and better things … but their backing of Wenger means us mugs in the stands still have to put up with the same old shite these two guys felt they needed to walk away from. And the same goes for Henry. He tells us Wenger should have a job for life etc, but he didn’t want to waste his final years scrapping for top 4 under Wenger did he? If he didn’t then why the fuck should we? Especially as we’re the ones paying out rather than being paid.

Yep i'm sure he made those injuries up so he didn't have to play for us

This is the same guy that took a penalty with a broken leg yeah?
Just looking at his goal celebrations for us, especially the one against spurs where he ran from the half way line I'm sure he didn't give a sh*t about us and couldn't wait to leave.
Sometimes I really think our fans just expect players to play for us regardless of what is going on with the team, manager, their lives etc. Why isn't Henry put in the same group? I suppose he made a nice farewell video so it's different.

Yeah to be fair Cesc did sit on the treatment table for most of his time here an only have one good season for us and then piss off to one of our rivals.Clash wrote:REB wrote:ahh poor cesc, all not going well in barcathe same cesc who had so many hamstring injuries the last year at arsenal and none since, fucked off to a grand prix while the team he was captain of was playing and forced a transfer , yeah poor cesc .

My view on any player who desires to leave is fuck them, but what sets van judas apart is where he went and anyone who can't see the difference between that and TH or Fabregas, is fucking stupid.Clash wrote:REB wrote:ahh poor cesc, all not going well in barcathe same cesc who had so many hamstring injuries the last year at arsenal and none since, fucked off to a grand prix while the team he was captain of was playing and forced a transfer , yeah poor cesc .

Re: Cesc to return?
I loved cesc as a player but if his home town team wasn't barca would he have been in such a rush to go back ? would I have him back then prob yes as he is still a great player but I wont swallow all the I love arsenal bullshit that comes with it.bang goes the 0-0 draw wrote:http://bleacherreport.com/articles/8740 ... or-3-weeksREB wrote:ahh poor cesc, all not going well in barcathe same cesc who had so many hamstring injuries the last year at arsenal and none since, fucked off to a grand prix while the team he was captain of was playing and forced a transfer , yeah poor cesc .

Re: Cesc to return?
Sit on the treatment table? Or be genuinely injured? Was Cesc genuinely injured in the last 6 games of his Arsenal career or all through pre-season before he left? If not and he just didn't want to play, then to me that's worse than being genuinely injured, no matter how long the injury. And I don't get why this is so easily defended.bang goes the 0-0 draw wrote:

I DO get why RVP going to Man United winds people up because I was (and still am) really fucking angry about it. I hate that we sold him there. I hate Wenger far more for agreeing to it.
But I'm not falling for any bollocks about Cesc being a saint in comparison. All this boyhood dream shite! It makes me want to puke!
Modern footballers are all as bad as each other. They only care about themselves.
