Haven't seen the game (have sky+ it and will watch it with kids tomoro) but 2nd half performance was impressive I take it ? As I haven't seen the game I can't really comment on individual performances but am glad for Giroud even though I now agree that he isn't going to be good enough especially in the system we play.

Was in pub after playing footie myself and saw the hazard/ballboy incident and it was shocking on so many levels - firstly the ballboy was being a complete prick by actually lying on top of the ball and then milking the situation after to the point that he was waving his arms and complaining to the ref  Ashley Williams then looked a right prick by then going up and high 5ing the kid when hazard was sent off  However at the end of the day you simply cannot do what hazard did - yes he was frustrated and I don't blame him but you cannot kick a kid like that regardless of whether the little prick deserves it

To be honest mate first half they let us have so much space and time they were going to get punished eventually. Some good goals though, really tore them to shreds.

Agree on Hazard - ballboy is a cheating lowlife Jack bastard but you can't go round kicking him in the ribs. At least not on camera.

Just got back from freezing my nuts off, but a great game to be at. West Ham were awful. They have 4 former Bolton players and relied on pumping balls into the box. Really shit game plan for Allardyce.

That being said, Ramsey played well. He was obviously told to sit deep and traded off with Jack. Giroud was getting fouled all game long on long kicks, but he must have won 70% of his aerial duels.

Some great finishes even by Giroud, but Poldi was immense and looked to get tired around 60 minutes. He dropped off visibly, however Santos is just a poor poor player. How he stays in the first team is beyond me.

Funny what happens when we press the players up the pitch, West Ham would give the ball away. Why can't we do that every game?

Good win and glad I got to witness it - even with numb toes.  :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

For a glorious ten minutes in that second half it felt I'd be transported back to the golden days when we used to counter with pace and attack with power and directness....haven't been able to say it many times this season but it really was wonderful to watch!

Is Podolski possibly a batty boy cuz I saw him give Santos a big kiss on the cheek when he came off early again as usual. Maybe to go get the jacuzzi ready?

A great spell in the 2nd half, but I can't help and feel that we reallly are the flat track bullies of football. It also goes to show how having Diaby out of the team helps with a faster flow to our game than having this dopey fucker dwelling on the ball and holding our play up.

All in all a great night for Wenger and the club as the cheque book can remain under lock and key.

Podolski is the ONLY really natural finisher we have at the club IMHO. The man just knows how to strike a ball. Yes he is also a good crosser, but he HAS to be played as part of a 4-4-2 with either Giroud or Feo (whichever works out best) or preferably another actual proper striker. Podolski is wasted out wide.

The murdering Wham kúnts were shit but you can only play what's in front of you and we've often struggled against shit teams in the past so great to see us fuck em for 5. Especially great as they are managed by Fat Sam Allthepies. 8)

Giroud was good, better than usual. No, he's not the next Wrighty/Bergkamp/Henry/whoever, but he has shown he can be useful. Couple of good goals, good assists and worked hard too. Even the doom-mongers on here have to admit he played well. But is he good enough for an Arsenal team that should be challenging for trophies every year? Probably not. But then at least half our current squad aren’t either.

Ramsey was ok. Not great, but not his usual level of utter shitness. He didn’t piss the ball away as much as he usually does and had a couple good touches and worked hard. But his passing is strictly Division 1 or Championship at best – almost always a yard wrong side of where the ball should be put.

A great win with some lovely goals but somehow just feels a bit like more papering over the cracks... :|

I agree about Pod. I don't mind him starting out wide but we need him in more central postions. A good finisher, a battler and an intelligent player.

If, every time we press with energy, pass the ball quickly and move off the ball to give options, we play well and win, why don't we start like it every fucking game!?!

Ramsey made 123 passes against West Ham - 95% were accurate and 53% went forward

Reasons to be cheerful....10 minutes of what we want but no longer expect from Arsenal, 5 quality goals, Big Sam's face, Pod at his best....very sorry about what happened to young Potts, seems he is making a good recovery . Fuck SSN for leading with the headline "Arsenal's' win overshadowed" Pott's injury was bad but was a complete accident. Arsenal were 5-1up , in fact Pott's injury was probably the reason Arsenal didn't score more goals. Of course the injury was a massive concern but why deflect from the performance before it.
Main point from last night Arsenal must play with pace and movement.
