Champions League and Europa Cup Games

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Obviously he was vastly underrated by the online gooner forum who, let's face it, know everything about football :rubchin:
he was voted second worst signing of the season by spanish supporters in 2012.

My only hope for the rest of this year's tournament is that Bayern get truly dicked over in the SF or the final. If it weren't for these totally incompetent wankers, we'd never have had to endure Chelsea's CL win, or Man Utd's treble back in '99.

Any mention of Stefan Effenberg still makes my blood boil. If that prick spent more time training rather than shagging his team-mates' wives and beating up women then he'd know how to clear a ball properly and my life would have been infinitely better.

I know the Thursday Cup isn't appropriate for a thread of this title but is anyone else watching Basel v Spurs? I've watched most of extra time and the quality is fucking dire.

I know it's tough being down to ten when you get into extra time but Spurs are just repeatedly lumping it aimlessly and Adebayor is being typically useless. Still, listening to the sycophantic commentary you'd be forgiven for thinking you'd accidentally flicked it on to Zulu and that they were defending their goal against tens of thousands of African warriors wielding spears.

They billed Frei as this deadly striker but he's come on and missed two chances he should have tucked away with ease.

Yeah, I'm watching. Got a really bad feeling that Spuds are gonna sneak through in the shoot-out. Basel especially were really poor in extra-time, and only have themselves to blame if they do go out.

Tottenham vs. Chelsea final though? Fuck that.

Adebayor's penalty was the best thing I've ever seen in my life.
