I think they are just going to have to ride it out. They need to stay consistent and give out this type of punishment whenever it occurs. I think people will eventually get used to it.northbank123 wrote:The problem isn't this decision. 10 games for biting somebody (tbf I didn't realise he'd lost his head so much, thought he was doing it purely to wind him up) isn't at all unreasonable.
The problem is that more or less every other high-profile decision they've had to make in the last decade - where they have almost invariably bottled it and handed down a lenient punishment. Now when they actually hand out meaningful punishments they have to withstand critical comparisons with past decisions.

I think if they commit to making a change towards effective, consistent punishments that's obviously a good thing even if pisses people off in the short-term.kiwomya wrote:I think they are just going to have to ride it out. Pointless though if they bottle it next time they have somebody like Rooney in front of them or next time somebody puts in a horror tackle and they hide behind this stupid rule/policy that THEY have implemented about not reviewing decisions.

were i a player i would do whatever was best for me and my career my fandom does not come into it.Steve_I wrote:Surely a true gooner wouldn't have fucked off in the first place?topgoon wrote:Top Londoner wrote:Are you even forgiving him from stating he will always be a gooner, when asking for a move?
He is not a gooner. A true gooner would have joined Barca/Real Madrid/Anzi Machfuckachucka not the team we hate as much as we hate the tw*ts down the road. Even Shitty would have been more acceptable.![]()
I don't give a shit about his little PR letter to the press. He wanted to be crafty even though it was pretty obvious he'd done the deal probably half way through last season. He is a C**T of the highest order and can f**k off with whisky nose,Evra and all the odious pricks in that f**king club.![]()

And Villa can f**k off too, useless w**kers, show some f**king bottle FFS you are in a relegation battle. Even sh*te Reading kept them to one goal.
the fact the he felt it lay elsewhere is the problem and to blame him is part of the poor us culture poisoning the club.
he had a year on his contract either we sold for top dollar and replaced or held him to his contract the cards were in our hands.
i am sickned to hear wenger in his 7 million a year complicitness tell ferguson you don,t realise how good he is.
if thats the case he should have been wearing our shirt if only for this season.
i can do nothing about my ambition as a fan
my lips are welded to the crack pipe
were i a player i wouild have no such compunction
more fool us as a club for being weak

he won the fa cup with us in 2005mcdowell42 wrote:Maybe he would of won something with the other 3 clubs but he was never going to win anything with us ,cos failure is all we have at arsenal these days, but stan is happy cos he got 24m.
scored 1 of the penaltys in the shoot out
he was our player of the year in 08/09 and missed a fortnight with injury
we have a duty of care to look after injured players or to get rid if we feel it is better for us
as you can see with diaby we would still rather behave like a spurned lover than a football club that are in the business of winning football matches.
