Wow
I'm guessing the Pound will go up against the Dollar now

Nope I've been watching markets all night, exchange rate is static unlike Asian stock markets. Expect up to 5% fall on the FTSE, gold is up.
Lucky i invested in Gold last week then

Good man, I've switched 30% of my portfolio into gold this year because of brexit and Trump, 20% in cash. Ready to pick up some bargains now in the markets.
Buy £ its on the way up
The only way to buy the pound versus dollar as a retail investor is spread betting. And doing that you could lose your shirt if you get it wrong. There is no reason to buy the pound anyway, our fundamentals haven't changed and Donald Trump isn't going to soften the brexit blow.

Well done to the Democrats for putting somebody forward who has hugely negative personal popularity and couldn't be perceived as being more tied to the establishment elite. Exactly what Trump wanted.
The last-ditch message which they were repeating about choosing hope over Trump just didn't resonate because nobody views Clinton as a beacon of hope. Might have had more luck with a "best of a bad bunch" campaign.
Wouldn't be at all surprised to see his presidency end abruptly and even with Republican majorities in both Houses he will surely struggle to pass some of his more outlandish legislation proposals.

Well that was easy money!
At 1am this morning Trump was 13/2 to win
Added to a bet I already had on him at 5/1 and it was at least a profitable night

The difference is that Reagan was probably a lame duck president who was being advised on what to do and (mostly) went that advice - trump is a self made mega wealthy arrogant c.unt who will do his own thing regardless of advice from more knowledgeable people, and that is where it will become very dangerous.
My missus refused point blank to recognize/acknowledge how deep the hatred and mistrust went as regards Hilary Clinton - she 100% believed that Clinton would win the election, and she is going around in a state of total shock and anger. Her mood obviously isn't being helped by yours truly pointing out that I told her all along that trump would win
Naturally everybody has their own selfish reasons when it comes to elections, but as an Irishman I am quite worried on how this will affect us - one of trumps (many) promises was that he would get all those American companies based abroad, to relocate to America. Obviously Ireland has a few big American corporations over here who are taking advantage of our generous taxation benefits, and if they fcuk back to America it will leave us in such a mess that it will make the last recession look like fun
