He had a poor game today and yes, you would expect more from him. Guardiola stopped his supply line today. City forced us wide and then overloaded those positions, this mitigating Ozil. Sanchez dropped deep searching for the ball and there wasn't an outlet even if Ozil was playing well today. So in a game like today, when we are defending deep and Sanchez is also dropping deep, Ozil has no point in the squad.markyp wrote:cant believe you lot are slating Ozil, you are fucking embarrassing yourselves, the whole team were awful today, you have very short memories,a couple of weeks back we were all purring at ozils performances, how many times have you lot got to be told Ozil will never run around like a headless chicken but put him up for sale and europes elite would all be in for him and that would probably include former club Real Madrid, seriously just shut the fuck up about Ozil, its boring and pathetic

"They caught us cold at the start of the second half".......unbelievable statement as if some kind of excuse???
whose job is to prepare the players mentally for the second half, obvious to expect some response from City, so keep it tight let the game settle for 10/15 minutes....win your individual challenges, shore up the midfield......

Ozil was he on the pitch, I saw more effort from him in the tunnel before the teams came out, buddying up to his mate Sane. Roll back the years you would never have seen the likes of Roecastle, Davis or Thomas making small talk with the opposition they would have been getting ready to get stuck into them.Ozil for all his fancy tricks against inferior teams he always goes missing against the big boys.begeegs wrote:He had a poor game today and yes, you would expect more from him. When Özil looks good, he looks sublime. When he looks bad, he looks like he doesn't give a toss.
Apart from the first 15 we were shite, I've no idea why some reports are saying we bossed the first half. I was expecting City to equalise in the last five of the first half!
Not surprised only a couple of players came over to clap us at the end. They know they're bottlers, led by a serial bottler.

some truth in that, but FFS he still has to put in some effort....shrugging shoulders and not bothering is not good enough, and certainly not what you would expect from someone wanting over £200K a week

End of the first half v Everton
Start of the 2nd half v City
End of the game v Everton
Its almost as if we lack mental strength, which we all know we have in abundance.

Cannot believe the comments on here defending that performance from Ozil today. Yes the whole team was shite and they are not on his level talent wise but the tosser lost the ball every time he touched it shrugged his shoulders and did fuck all to get it back. There isn't one other manager in this whole league that would put up with his lack of effort today, because it was way less than everyone else around him and that's saying some thing.
You will never see that from Sanchez regardless of how pissed off he gets and that's what seperates the 2 players. Ozil doesn't have the engine Sanchez does but he knows how to close the opposition down for fucks sake.
This is all so depressing but the worst part is that the protests against Wenger should have been continuous from the start of this season to show we all knew what would happen. If they start up again now it'll make our fanbase look a bigger bunch of knobs than they already do thanks to that fucking plank and his arsenal fan TV.

Even after the promising start, its becoming apparent Wenger will never be able to beak out of his inability to avoid failure. He has well and trulyl hit the glass ceiling as a manager who can only ever get us in the top 4, and we will never by anything more than precipitants in the CL. Every given year there are 4-6 teams with a realistic chance of winning the CL, were part of the other 26 needed to fill the competition.
Now if you still want Wenger at the club, then just come and out say your happy bobbing along between 3rd-4th and never really kicking on, and are quite happy to simply play Bayern Munich or Barcelona, rather than compete with them - kind of how lower league clubs react to drawing Man United or Liverpool in the FA Cup - its not bout winning, its just about sharing the same pitch space with big historical club.
But everyone needs to stop pretending this club is going somewhere. For some reason, some fans still believe in the 'Arsene knows' mantra. Although its worse in the media, with former players always propping up Wenger, starting with Henry. For so long now Arsenal fans have been dictated to, and spoken down to. Barely anything gets done about it, you only have to think about the 70th minute walk out that wasnt last season. Other clubs fans dont put with this shit. United fans flew a banner over Old Trafford to get dithering Dave out. Chelsea fans never accepted Benitez - no matter how good results were for them. Liverpool fans forced Woy out. Whilst we put up polite banners. 'thanks for the memories, but its time to say goodbye'. That wont do anymore. The heat needs ot be turned up, because if its not, and the dissent is polite and well mannered, that french fool will pen a new deal, and the joke will go on until 2019 - locking in 15 years of Wenger failures.

I got up at 3am to watch this load of effortless garbage. I even missed the Feo goal, but couldn't believe he was on the pitch when they mentioned he had scored. The only player who put in a real gutsy effort was Sanchez, until he got his knock. We will get beat by a low life team in the next few weeks & deserve it. Our squad is not good enough. Get rid of the dead wood & we all know who they are. Seems some french bloke in charge doesn't !!. 4th place is only a pipe dream after this.

Re: Manchester City (A) | PL | Sun 18 Dec 16:00
I've just about calmed down now... just about. Typical spineless performance with no killer instinct, no guts, no leadership and no direction or tactics from the bench.
Good to see the blinkers are still on for a few of our less intelligent posters. Yesterday was all Ozil's fault apparently. A player everyone and their cousin knows is not a workhorse, a player that is there to create. It was all his fault, yep.
Not the fault of the 4 defenders and 2 supposed DM's we had on that just let citeh cut through us for a laugh. Not the fault of the 3 worst players on the pitch; Kos, Bellerin and Coq. 3 players that gave possession away cheaply every time they touched the ball, 3 supposedly defence-minded players that did no defending, that just walked around, that got nowhere near any Citeh player, that kept our line sitting far too deep and invited a shit citeh side onto us. Bellerin looks nowhere near fit and was jogging back all day but more worryingly his passing was terrible, just gifting citeh the ball. Coq is Coq - a very very average player with little technical ability - his first touch is as bad as I've ever seen in a professional footballer. Kos we could put down to just a bad day at the office and the fear that playing beside the brainless Gabriel must instill in him.
Our whole team were shit yesterday. Every one of them. But to say Ozil was the worst player (yes he was shit too - no denying that) and blame that defeat on him is having a laugh in the extreme.
Sanchez was appalling yesterday. Yeah - he did his Robbie Savage impression and ran around like a headless chicken and what exactly did that get us? Oh really - nothing? We didn't win because he ran around? Aw shit if only Ozil had run around like a headless chicken as well, huh? We might have won! Damn. I imagine a couple of you must of sat there watching Bergkamp in 1995/6 (surrounded by Hartson, Hillier, McGoldrick, Selley etc) and thought "that fucking Bergkamp is a useless lazy fucker - does no defending!"
Xhaka and Walcott were totally anonymous apart from Walcott's very well taken goal - which was the only bit of class football he or Sanchez were involved in all day.
Nacho has regressed so badly this season. His positioning is terrible nowadays. Cech is aging by the second and looks way past his best. Time to drop him and give Ospina a run in the side. The Ox is back to his nice run no end product ever best. Giroud came on and showed again why it's a waste of everyone's time playing him as a lone striker.
Without a doubt, Sanchez and Ozil are our best two technical footballers. By miles and miles. The problem we have is there is nobody else at that level and both of their body language's say they are frustrated and pissed off. I'd be amazed if either are here next season tbh. But hey - hopefully as replacements we can get in some journeymen that will run around a lot.
For me yesterday is down to one man more than any other and that's Wenger. Again, he just sat there looking on in bewilderment as the cheating bastard oppo manager made tactical and personnel changes and went on to win the game. That self-hugging ploy you use just isn't winning us games, Arsene. I know - I'm amazed too!
