The difference between yesterday and Newcastle is we created plenty of overloads in attacking areas evidenced by the fact that it was Saliba who created that chance in the dying seconds. There was more overlapping and obviously Odegaard’s presence brought more fluidity in final third. I know it’s fashionable to criticise Partey and he has his limitations but he’s actually been one of our better performers. Merino, Trossard etc are bench players at best and it’s easier to integrate them when the tempo has slowed down.Natural Born Gooner wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 6:45 pmGoing to try and be a bit positive and say it was a much better performance than the past few weeks.
Shows how irreplaceable Odegaard is to us, just slotted effortlessly back in and we looked a much more dangerous team.
Merino looked a lot better than previous matches, hoping he replaces Partey asap if he continues that.
A Martinelli goal.
Now everyone should pull out of the international games and head to Dubai for 2 weeks.

If Ode plays for Norway then I'm afraid it all comes down to Arsenal FC. Sometimes a club has to ask a player not to play an international game and clearly, it's a bloody awful idea that he might play 1 or 2 games for Norway again so soon. Imo, Arsenal should be saying to him - if you think your international team is more important than your club team then maybe you aren't at the right club. If he still went to play for them then I would transfer list him in summer. You just can't have players putting country ahead of club.

Usually I dont agree with that line of thining cos players should be proud to play for their country, but the reality is that he is after being out for so long (after picking up injury on international duty too), and he has only started one game since returning, so he should be doing the sensible thing here and withdrawing imo.
I will also say that odeargod has come out of this injury smelling of roses - we lacked creativity without him cos the stupid cone boy sold smith-rowe and wont play Nwanieri so odeargod's importance has gone through the roof cos of zero back ups

He should exclude himself from selection, if not then Arteta should tell him WTF... WE(*) have only just got you fit again and now you want to play in another pointless game and risk exacerbating the injury!???
(*) I think if a player gets injured playing for his country, then that country should pay his Full Wages till he is fit to play for his club again.

I think there is some sort of financial package in place for when a player gets injured playing for their country, but honestly compensation isnt the issue when we have such a paper thin squad

I should hope so mate.....
Watch Cheaty & the scousers pull all their players from any unnecessary games.
Yes... You're right Augie... Did a bit of digging and most countries have something in place... but nowhere near the level of wages many Prem Players are on.

The plan is for Ødegaard to stay in London and work on his best form with Arsenal staff.
Re: Chavski cocks A Sun 10th Nov KO 430pm
I’ve just watched the extended highlights. Not sure how Caicedo escaped a booking here after committing numerous bookable offences including barging into Timber and hacking at Merino. Same goes for Cucurella who should’ve been booked in the first half for dragging back Saka in a promising attack. If White’s booking was soft, Havertz’ was bizarre. Cucurella run to Oliver and pointed out the head injury. Oliver then went over like a headmaster and asked Havertz to leave the pitch to receive treatment but he was reluctant to because we would’ve been reduced to 10men obviously. It appears Havertz wanted the medical staff to enter the pitch to treat him and Partey came over and asked him to go down. Amidst the confusion, Oliver books Havertz for refusing to leave the pitch. Havertz eventually does and fortunately we retained possession long enough for him to return to the pitch. Imagine if we’d conceded under these circumstances?
Guarantee we wouldn’t have ended the game with 11 men if we has committed the same nature of fouls as Chelsea. These are the fine margins.

While I agree that we’ve been on the wrong end of some poor officiating, some of these posts are beginning to look a little desperate. I thought, while watching the game on Sunday that Caicedo should have been booked and he was overly pumped up, particularly in the first half, but wanting the ref to help us win games is not a good look. The struggles this season are down to Lego Head not the referees.

I look on it as a cake. The base is Arteta and his idea of what a squad is, and that contains ecoli. The terrible refereeing and VAR decisions are just the cream on top. And that cream is soured.Retro Gunner wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 2:22 pmGeneral wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 12:30 pmI’ve just watched the extended highlights. what I’ve written that I ‘want ref to help us win games’. You’re putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5. Oliver should do his goddamn job and despite his inconsistency and our well documented issues, we played well enough to win it. I still maintain that if those fouls were committed by our players, we wouldn’t have finished with 11men. I didn’t even mention Colwill who committed another obvious yellow card offence but yet wasn’t booked.

Looking at how that cock Oliver has officiated us over the years there is no way we should have him ref our games..The prick obviously has an agenda.General wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 12:30 pmI’ve just watched the extended highlights.
