As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
It’s a despicable fucking decision. He took an age to give it which meant he wasn’t sure but probably thought to himself fuck it I mightn’t get a better chance than this so I’ll just give it.
It’s never a penalty in a million years. They’ve done us over like they’ve done us over countless fucking times before.
Does anyone on here honestly think that exact same decision would be given against Liverpool? I mean please do me a fucking favour
just seen again...terrible decision...never seen anything like it...and doubt we will again
clash of heads thats all it was....
that said we aint good enough

Just looked at that a few times more and it's clear that Saliba heads the ball first. Clear and indisputable. So why didn't the VAR cûnts look at it properly with all the replays that they should be looking at? They can't get away with it now because I'm seconds, someone with the same technology and a Twitter account will highlight it and show them up for being corrupt or incompetent. The club need to be highlighting this and the Premier League need to explain why their officials are time and time again either incompetent or corrupt.
The VAR decision was made incredibly quickly I thought. Surely it was one of those that should have gone to the monitor for the ref to check ?
We are absolutely horrible to watch at the moment. I know we're missing a few players but it's almost as though we go out and unless we go behind we show no urgency. It's also like we select which teams we 'try' against we just turned up and expect to win against Brighton Fulham Everton Bournemouth....so amazed that arteta gets ABSOLUTELY SCHOOLED against that 28 year old coach of there's
I think we are suffering through being in all comps. We are facing sides fresh as a daisy out of Europe and out of cups. It’s a privilege to be playing in it all but we are stretched. Injuries and illness has had an effect tonight. Havertz not there. Odegaard and Martinelli not right through illness.
Who the fuck was their LB? The kind of player you avoided like the plague if playing Sunday league cos he went steaming into every challenge taking out his frustration that he couldn't satisfy his wife

We should go all in now on the league cup - even if we have to sacrifice the FA cup match next weekend (although our reserves could probably beat United right now )

They should have slowed it down and looked for any contact on the ball from Saliba first. It's that simple. They didn't because they didn't want to. They are not competent or thorough enough when they look at incidents. They are inconsistent with their reviews because almost every time we score, it's analysed for at least a minute. Any incident is looked at to find any reason to disallow it. When it's against us, they never bother because they don't want to. That incident tonight highlights either incompetence or cheating. There is no other option. There is no reason at all why they shouldn't have slowed it down to look at it very closely. They didn't because they didn't want to or because they are too incompetent to know the laws and the processes involved. This is what the club should be asking of the Premier League.

Bloke was a menace!
Are you talking about Veltman the guy who got Rice sent off and tried it again on Jorginho. He thinks he's Brighton's hard man.

He'll be here for the next 20 years of he wins that
Jesus. Honestly I was initially sort of defending the decision having assumed Saliba missed the ball. Soft, but fair. But he played the fucking ball!!! Absolute insanity.
Another way of looking at it, if Legohead was a scouse agent sent to ensure a scouse league title, he’d be doing an almost perfect job, that in itself should be grounds for booting him.
And if nwaneri is gone too, his squad depth is not just going to bite, but it’ll clamp down and lock.
The pitiful transfer policy at the club will be laid bare for the world to see with one man to blame
Arteta on Brighton's penalty: "I have never seen a decision like this in my career."
Arteta speaking to BBC Match of the Day about Ethan Nwaneri:
"Really bad news because I think we've lost him, we had to take him off at half-time with some muscular issues."
And I agree with him re their penalty, BUT to focus purely on that (as it seems everyone is) means we are failing/refusing to see the issues regarding team performances and lack of quality in some players - it isnt just today's game cos we were muck in first half against brentford the other day, and generally speaking our performances this season have fallen well below the required level. Like I said earlier, our tactics and our lack of killer instinct is coming from the manager, and you cant win a league playing lazy half arsed football as much as we do.
Again I am fuming over the penalty decision too, but watch the fan boys cling onto that as the excuse in the coming weeks as a means of deflecting from our glaring shortcomings
