Re: The January "He Looks Quite Good" Transfer Thread
Mkhitaryan, Malcom and Aubameyang all odds on to sign...
At least all this potential upheaval will annoy TOF who is always going on about not upsetting the balance etc.
Wenger doesn't like his powerbase being undermined because it will expose all the the flaws in his ability (or lack of) to actually manage the tactics, motivate the players and sort out issues on the field, for too many years he has hidden behind the "financial management" and all the other stuff he was made out to be responsible for, do your actual job Arsene.
Soon even the AKB's will have found him out..![Twisted Evil ](./images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif)

Can any of those 3 play defensive midfield, centre back or goalkeeper? If so they might be useful.

Nope. We are the only club in the world who never signs the right players. We either don't buy anyone or waste money on players we don't need.Bob Bayliss wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2018 10:14 pmCan any of those 3 play defensive midfield, centre back or goalkeeper? If so they might be useful.

Re: The January "He Looks Quite Good" Transfer Thread
If even some of these rumours are true, it really does feel like a shift of the power base as far as transfers are concerned. It makes me think that with his failure to secure those contracts before last summer someone has finally sat up and taken notice of his financial short comings if nothing else, the fact that Ivan or whoever has brought in that Chief scout and also a commercial specialist leads me to think that someone has realised at least on the financial side of things Wenger is not the Guru he makes out to be.
None of this feels like AW at all, and as mentioned earlier i definitely think he wasn't really consulted on the young Greek lad after his petulant and vindictive comment earlier on this week.
So the question is is the rug being gently pulled from under his feet at least as far as transfers, contracts and financial matters are concerned? It's a bit bloody late but if nothing else it may mean at least he doesn't squander any more money, even if someone else does.
The other implication is if we are clearing out deadwood and short contract players, notably those who are most vocally supportive of AW it implies they are looking to bring in new blood and undermine him, so a faint possibility of change in the future
Then again it could mean fuck all but i can dream

To be fair - doesn't matter who is signed while Wenger is in charge, they all go backwards once they arrive.
Re: The January "He Looks Quite Good" Transfer Thread
The front 6 looks proper dog shit without Sanchez. Cazorla wont ever return and Ozil will leave after this season.
The club has also offered Jack Wilshere a pay cut in his new contract. Even though he is a local and loves the club, and recent performances showcase me could return to his old self, yet we run the risk of insulting him and potentially opening the door for Wilshere suitors to line up and potentially take another player away from the club.
Giroud, Walcott, Meteacker all get unconditional pay rises with every contract, why are reversing course with Wilshere? Is this the way forward without CL revenue?

Re: The January "He Looks Quite Good" Transfer Thread
If we sign Aubameyang are we going 4-4-2? Didnt we just spent 50m on Lacazette who Wenger uses sparingly? Or is Wenger going to play one the wing?
He doesnt know what he is doing. Yet some people still think he is a brilliant manager, rather than a bumbling buffoon.

Said this before here but I don't think Wenger rates or more importantly likes Jack Wilshere...His recent form has been good but I am convinced he only got his chance because of Le Love Child's injury..Xhaka and Ramsey are the first choice pairing and if Jack could be portrayed as disruptive and unsettled to a point of him leaving I think Wenger would be happy...I obviously could be wrong but the fans and media calling for Jack's inclusion followed by circumstances forcing his inclusion on Wenger and Jack proving his worth is everything that Wenger hates.Wilson wrote: ↑Wed Jan 17, 2018 4:58 amThe front 6 looks proper dog shit without Sanchez. I'm inclined to think you are probably right there BWK.Bradywasking wrote: ↑Wed Jan 17, 2018 7:15 amSaid this before here but I don't think Wenger rates or more importantly likes Jack Wilshere...His recent form has been good but I am convinced he only got his chance because of Le Love Child's injury..Xhaka and Ramsey are the first choice pairing and if Jack could be portrayed as disruptive and unsettled to a point of him leaving I think Wenger would be happy...I obviously could be wrong but the fans and media calling for Jack's inclusion followed by circumstances forcing his inclusion on Wenger and Jack proving his worth is everything that Wenger hates.Wilson wrote: ↑Wed Jan 17, 2018 4:58 amThe front 6 looks proper dog shit without Sanchez. Also it makes me laugh when people lose their shit about Wenger extending contracts with pay rises for injury-prone players, and then lose their shit when Wenger extends contracts of injury-prone players but doesn't give them a pay rise and indeed cuts their pay!

Personally, I rate Jack, he offers us a bit of immediate drive when he drops the shoulder and bursts past players, but he is as injury-prone as VanCuntFace was. I'd put him on a pay as you play tbh. His style of play means he is always gonna miss big chunks of every season, and no matter how good a player might be, they are fuck all use if they are sat in the Diaby Wing of our medical centre 4 games out of 5...

The fact that Mickey whatsisname is clearly so reluctant to come to Arsenal as part of the Sanchez deal speaks volumes.
Mourinho clearly doesn't rate him good enough to displace Mata or Lingard, never mind Pogba. The player himself signed for United when they were in the Europa League, so lack of Champions'League football is hardly a deal breaker for a player who is out of the team anyway.
All in all a dog's breakfast.
