THE WENGER THREAD
Re: THE WENGER THREAD
I just dont understand the failure to learn. Both Wenger's failure to learn from previous errors, and also the fans failure to learn from Wengers history of ignoring problems. Why is John Cross, Souness, Henry ect surprised Wenger hasnt acted in the transfer market? All you need to do is pay attention and look at his behavior over a 10 year period.
So its ignorance on those two fronts, that allows for a club of our stature to drown itself in misery. One, is Wenger's blissful ignorance and arrogance in the transfer market, and then we have the ignorant fans who are conned every year into giving Wenger one last chance, thinking he will change and correct the errors of the past.

He's whinging again about the league not being all about money and all the usual shit:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... clash.html
Why doesn't he just fucking shut up? Always bending the truth to suit his own argument. His interviews and press conferences are becoming more and more like dictatorial briefings. The *word censored* is such an ego-maniac that he beleives that if he thinks something, it's the truth.
It might as well be Mugabe in Zimbabwe or Stalin's Russia.
Why doesn't anyone ask him for his views on earning one of the highest salaries in world football and whether he feels that's justified? If money is not important, why doesn't he do it for minimum wage?

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
The media are complicit in him getting away with the amount of shit he does. They are utterly spineless, and are happy to sit there, and laugh at his unfunny jokes, and ask him questions, so soft, you'd think you were watching the club's official channel. The rare times, the questions are somewhat tough, he lashes out, so the journalists know not to question him again.Perryashburtongroves wrote:He's whinging again about the league not being all about money and all the usual shit:

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
What gets me about Wenger is the fact that he is now praising Rob Holding saying he has great championship experience
The same guy he was haggling over £500,000 before eventually signing
No disrespect to Holding hope he turns out to be a great player, but Wengers mentality he only values him at £1.5 million and would not pay any more....but now good enough for our first team.....strange logic

Great experience yeah.....of finishing bottom and conceding 3-4 goals a week every week. Sounds fabulousRedarmy wrote:What gets me about Wenger is the fact that he is now praising Rob Holding saying he has great championship experience

Feel the lad could be getting set up here....if it goes horribly wrong (which is possible playing in front of 60,000) the crowd will slaughter him.....
Hope I'm wrong though and he turns out to be another David OLeary or Tony Adams
Either way huge gamble by a bullet proof Wenger
Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Reminds me of Traore, Djourou, Lansbury and co getting thrown to the wolves at OT when we got hammered 8-2.....all because we'd played the Be All and End All game against Udinese and Shit for Brains delayed signing anyone until the final day of the window. It won't be Holding's fault but hardly a great way to start is itRedarmy wrote:SteveO 35 wrote:Must be the 'super quality' that he's been searching for night and day all over the worldRedarmy wrote:SteveO 35 wrote:Great experience yeah.....of finishing bottom and conceding 3-4 goals a week every week. I'll judge him in Mayaugie wrote:Jumpers For Goalposts wrote:Matt - I'm not going to be abusive to you because of your choice to defend Wenger but can you confirm one thing?mattdede wrote:Nice one guys, I'm sure as the season goes on I will end up abusing Wenger just as much as everyone else. For now, I'll keep it quiet and see how we get on against Liverpool...
At present then, we have bought one Jap for marketing purposes, a midfielder which cost as much as Kante and no one else.
We have Pers and Gabriel out injured. Still no striker that can get us 25 goals a season and Theo is still at the club.
Bring on Liverpool, eh!
You say you're waiting to see how we get on against Liverpool but that's only one match. Are you basing your support for Wenger on what happens in the next match? Don't the last 10 years give you some cause for concern?
You know - results like the 8-2 at Old Trafford or 6-0 at Chelsea or 5-1 at Anfield or 4-0 at Southampton or several bottled title run ins or several cup defeats to the likes of Bradford Birmingham or Sheffield Wednesday or our yearly annihilation in the Champions League??
It's a medical condition called "The Jam Tomorrow Syndrome" - it is always the next game or the next transfer window or the next season, and it is an affliction that affects thousands of Gooners everywhere![]()

If it goes tits up, the coward will blame the Emirates crowd, rather than accept his culpable negligence in getting to this situation.Redarmy wrote:SteveO 35 wrote:Must be the 'super quality' that he's been searching for night and day all over the worldRedarmy wrote:SteveO 35 wrote:Great experience yeah.....of finishing bottom and conceding 3-4 goals a week every week. Like he did when Eboue got substituted when playing left wing and tackling his own players.......

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
This week has shown yet again that Wenger is an incredibly arrogant man, more concerned with proving everyone wrong and proving that he is some sort of savant / genius like Peter Sellers' character Chance the Gardener.
Sadly, like Mr Chance, Wenger is deluded but, like Mr Chance, people want to believe it. This crap will only stop when enough fans wake up and turn against him. It's like a sick joke now.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
The shit coming out of his mouth about money and not being able to compete is the same shit we heard 15 years ago. Weren't we all told that once we moved ground, we would be able to compete with everyone for the very best players. Is there any other club in the world whose manager makes so many fuc king excuses?

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
He says it is not a 'financial competition'.
I am sure some part of his mind thinks it is. Which club has the biggest cash reserves anywhere?? Oh yes! It is us! We win!
I honestly don't think anything he says comes across as anything like the suave, intellectual, economic genius some of his followers proclaim him to be. Whenever I have heard him interviewed in recent times I hear very basic answers to obvious questions, nothing ground breaking. It is the same with any interview he has given that I have read in the last few years. Whether or not he would be able to be more expansive if the right questions were asked I really don't know, as he might say himself! I would love for someone, anyone, to be able to really test him with some probing questions of the like most of us would love to ask, and for him to have to answer them.
Also, about the transfer window, I am sure years ago he himself suggested that it should close before the start of the season. If he feels that way then why on Earth does he not get his own business in order a lot sooner??
