As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Wenger pauses for a moment as he recalls the tone of the exchange, searching for the right word. "Professional," is the one he plumps for, although the hint of a knowing smile suggests the negotiations may have been infused with a touch more emotion. "It was a very professional phone call, and there was more than one," he adds, arching an eyebrow. "I will tell you the rest another day."

Wenger seems to have a lot of power and seems to enjoy that power.
Particularly when it comes to communication.
Fortunately for him, the Arsenal fans don't seem to take any offense

One of Arsenal’s biggest fans’ groups feel it is time for manager Arsene Wenger to either change his approach - or go.
More than 2,300 members of the Black Scarf Movement took part in a wide-ranging survey and 46 per cent admitted they believe Wenger is no longer the best man for his job.
Incredibly, just FIVE per cent of respondents felt he is still the best man for the job.
In addition, 41 per cent believe he should continue on the condition he “changes his approach away from 'Project Youth' or working to achieve top four on a minimal spend.”
Wenger has been in charge at the North London club since 1996 and delivered a flood of trophies in his early years, but that success has since dried up.
The Gunners last won a trophy in 2005 and their hopes of ending that drought this season lies in either the FA Cup - they host Swansea on Wednesday in a third-round replay - or an unlikely Champions League triumph, as they are out of the League Cup and 18 points off the pace in the Premier League.
Over two-thirds of those polled are Arsenal season-ticket holders or attend most games, while most of the rest regularly attend matches at the Emirates.
The survey also questions ticket prices, which nearly 77 per cent said are too expensive.
Elsewhere, 86 per cent said the team has become weaker, 96.5 per cent said the board is not running the club effectively and 86 per cent said chairman Peter Hill-Wood should go.
Raj Patel, of the Black Scarf Movement, said: “We are not an anti-Wenger group, but we are responsible for what our fans want and what they are thinking.
“The overwhelming thing for us is that the percentage of fans who want a change of board is in the 90s and the same goes for those who want [share-holder] Alisher Usmanov to have a place on the board.
Wenger says he does not find it painful to watch Van Persie delivering, decisively, game after game in a different shade of red. "But what is painful is to see United so far in front of us," he says. "We knew when we sold him to United that would be the case." That is a stark admission from Arsenal's perspective.
and, whilst I am at it.......
we have 77 SEVENTY SEVEN players on our books and we can't get past Bradford in the league Cup.
Iain Duncan Smith got it right.
edit: 143 million £ wage bill, a manager on £7m per year, and the highest priced seat tickets this side of Mars and some people reckon we show too much vitriol towards a lying, deceitful and patronising git running the joint?
Do me a favour.

Fergie's got his head screwed on. He knows who makes the decisions at Arsenal. Thats why he phoned the organ-grinder not any of the monkeys on the board. He will cosy up to Wenger when it suits him or when hes not a threat. But as soon as he gets too close for comfort he'll start the mind games again. Thats why hes the best manager there is. Hes a devious ruthless c**t and a winner. Great bit of business by him and Wenger fell for it.

Wengers in charge at Arsenal, God help us all.
God can't help us now armchair, for we are foresaken.
Contractor who came round to do some work today is a Mouser and even he said surely Wenger has to go. Coming from a club that has fallen to the depths that they have. Even outsiders are starting to see the wood from the trees.
Btw I have just watch the Les Mis film so I more up for revolution than ever.

Watch he doesn't claim some compo of you and make sure you check your ornaments.

That is the most d.isgraceful comment I have ever seen from an AFC manager and would go so far as to say that as a Gooner I find it more disrespectful and treacherous than a fat Brazilian swapping shirts at half time with a former player of ours If the old c**t knew that the transfer would put them so far ahead of us then why did he agree to the deal ? If he felt losing rvp was a huge blow then why didn't he spend the money on a replacement at the same level ? Why spout bullshit about having a great squad and competing for the title if he knew we were gonna be miles off the pace ?
The answer to all these questions is simple really.......he is a smug lying c**t who is trousering 7.5m per season and is indignant at the thought of having to justify his decisions especially to fans who he feels are no better than a piece of dog shit on the bottom of his shoe Just fcuk off back to France you senile old greedy deceitful c**t

Compo was actually brought up in a different context. No joke.

Far be it for me to stick up for the bloke as most of what he says confuses and pisses me off in equal measure but in fairness to Wenger, I think he meant that in relation to RVP scoring goals rather than Man United being so far clear.
Wenger pauses for a moment as he recalls the tone of the exchange, searching for the right word. "Profit," is the one he plumps for, although the hint of a knowing smile suggests the negotiations may have been infused with a touch more emotion. "
I've fixed that for you!
I don't know why people still talk about 'project youth'.........Wenger stopped that a few years ago, 'Project Profit' is the ONLY thing on Wenger's mind. Winning an actual trophy is not a consideration for Wenger, and not a requirement of the board.
