SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Who have United signed? (assuming you mean Man Utd, and not Colchester or Dundee... :? )

Isn't their biggest signing so far Phil Neville as coach?

That was January. They then loaned him to Palace - I don't think that really counts, does it? :?

We signed Monreal after they signed Zaha.

Sanogo he can come in
Remy might still come in
I got swept away with the early rumours, thinking it may be different with some real business being done this summer. What a fucking fool I felt like when reading the back page of the Standard this evening

In Arsene We Rust

They signed right-back Varela in June.

why the fuck would you group Podolski with forehead? he's technically our most gifted and experienced striker...
Because dear Henry I believe that the total budget nett spend is 20 million Max as I've stated here many times ,so if we buy a striker we will sell one ,Podolski and Gervinho are strikers, thus the grouping .

I'm beginning to think the reason why we haven't bought is that they want or have to sell first but given Poldis age and wages he might be hard to trade ,Gervinho likewise gets a big wage and is worth no more than 2-4 million on the market .

Maybe somebody with more medical knowledge than I can explain this to me but how does it make sense sending the fat granny shagger home 11k miles cos of his hamstring ? :? Surely to fcuk they brought medical staff with them on tour ? If so surely to fcuk they can treat him out there ? I just dont see the sense of sending the c**t home now with a fresh injury as opposed to treating it out there for the next 7-10 days leaving it in a better condition to face that long journey home. Of course it does raise the question of whether he is going home to negotiate his transfer to the chavs and the hamstring injury is just a ruse :rubchin:

Arsenal are in serious trouble if after all this time they cant even sign one gifted forward player. Loads of football on Sky this season we will see the demise in real time.
Shocking and they are off on a jolly tournament with no new blood apart from another shite free french crock

I agree with you Augie. The fact that Rooney has come back suggests he has had a big fall out with Moyes again and won't play so I reckon he is going to be leaving soon. Moyes sat in his press conference the other day and said Rooney is in his best shape ever, then he does a hamstring just a few minutes into the first training session? Sounds almost Arsenal like!!
I actually think we may sign him for 30m, I must be mad saying that because deep down I doubt Wenger will pay more than 15m for anyone, even a Frenchman!! But I have a sneaky feeling that der management at AFC see Rooney as a massive marketing success (which he probably would be) and therefore not as much of a risk financially, this might explain why Higgy hasn't happened either. *

* Who am I kidding!! Arsenal are fucked under Wenger!!

Has to be more to Rooney coming home than officially meets the eye ..but I think if he leaves he is Chelsea bound, basing that on mathematics and who will pay him / United the most.

Lock this thread down. Nothing's gonna happen while they're on the charm offensive in Asia! Here's what'll be happening for the next two weeks...
