Arsene Wenger has reportedly confirmed that Fiorentina have not only asked after Marouane Chamakh, but also made an offer for him.

The Arsenal forward is being strongly linked with a departure this summer after struggling to make an impact in the Premier League.

Fiorentina have in recent days emerged as a forerunner to those said to be interested, and now The Gunners’ manager Wenger has confirmed this.

“They have asked for information about Marouane’s availability and now we will think about it and we will let you know,” the Frenchman reportedly told The Atlas Lions.

“The day after they enquired, they returned with a very advantageous offer.”
