THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Big Broom with attitude urgently needed so supporters can get back to supporting without Wenger and his Sideshow Bobs..
You sir, speak wisely - under no circumstances should he be allowed upstairs and be able to Interfere with the new guy.
The backroom staff hopefully depart too - there may even be room for Vieira, Bergkamp, or Thierry to provide their knowledge and wisdom..

That can easily be melted down to make a beautiful cannon for all to admire, I have never really understood the need for effigies, self glorification, arrogance et al that shite!..
Posthumous as in the case of Herbert Chapman I have no quarrel, but to a dictator resembling Saddam Hussein with each and every passing day is too much to bear...

The Chapman bust had a touch of modest class to it - a posthumous tribute to a great manager that helped make The Arsenal a huge club. Sticking up a bust of Wenger - not only whilst he is still alive, but still managing at the club - is crass and tasteless. Similarly the statues of Bergkamp, Adams and Henry are a bit tasteless. :|

Totally agree, there is something cheap and nasty about it all, self congratulations, patting yourself on the back, turning a great club with great tradition into a brioche of Francophilia...
Napoleon I can understand, but Wenger ain't no Bonaparte!...

Totally agree with you again and with DB10 too

Talking of patting yourselves on the back ... how many clubs out there have a bust and a statue of someone who wasnt even a player or manager?

And if thats not enough he even gets a bridge named after him

Wenger has slowly changed the culture at our club to almost the opposite of what it once was and become something far too Spurs-ish for my liking.

This Leicester thing is comparable to the filth giving out ticket details for the 1987 Littlewoods cup final at half time in the 2nd leg when they were leading.
