Re: Arsene Wenger - For him or against him?
From the BBC website:-
Reports have also suggested Arsenal are keen to sign Napoli's 25-year-old Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani.
"I like him as a player," said Wenger. "Will he cost a lot of money? That's for sure. Nobody would deny that. Our banker lives just next to me at the moment and he is ready if we find the right player.
Why does Wenger have to be so fukin arrogant?? He's happy to spout forth endlessly about "petro dollars" or "financial doping" but he always resorts to arrogance and hostility when anyone dares to question his judgement. He really does have total contempt for us.

Re: Arsene Wenger - For him or against him?
I just took a phone call from a guy who used to travel to Highbury with me back in the day. The lad was in a bad, bad way regarding all matters Arsenal. He told me he had NOT renewed his silver status last summer as he was so fed up with the direction the club was heading in, I sympathised.
I then told him we needed to get shot of Wenger, to my total surprise he then said 'But who else could we get?'
Teflon Wenger

I think Tony would have been a great influence to have in the dressing room and on the training ground in a coaching capacity- a proper leader and winner who would soon sort out those pussies in our backline.mcdowell42 wrote:http://www.independent.co.uk/news/peopl ... 58290.html
However this regime wouldn't want that- they would neuter any positive influence Tony would have just like they've done with Steve Bould. All things must be done according to the 10 commandments of Wengerball...

A good interview with the great man - sometimes I allow my annoyance at his no shows for highbury farewell & Bergkamp's testimonial to cloud my memories of TA6 but then you read an article like that and it reminds you of why he will always be Mr Arsenal

Christ alive just imagine Bouldy and Adams being allowed to tear a strip off our pampered pussies at half time - no chance, quiet reflection, do your hair in the mirror, take off the dirty shirt and put a nice clean one on.

So, is Mr Arsenal another "bitter" ex player with a grudge against Wenger, like Wilson, Mc Lintock, Merson, Wright, Keown, Winterburn have all been labelled for speaking their mind and saying that things are not good enough at our club and haven't been for some time.
When more and more ex players (who have been in the game for x number of years) say the same thing then at some point somebody must realise that they are speaking the truth, from the heart.
Oh and well done Tony, for ensuring your boys became Gooners too

In fairness, what I've seen, heard and read about Adams since he beat the booze and retired suggests that might be exactly his style these days.StuartL wrote:

Like to see Adams, Bergkamp and Wright all joining Bould, Davis and Ampadu in being involved with coaching at the club.
For that matter Keown, Dixon and Vieira too, all eloquent top level players who gave their all for the club.
As for management interesting what Adams says, that possibly the next boss will be more of a general manager, with a head coach doing more of the training?

At least he's honest about our non-tackling and non-heading approach to games. I find this unbelievable in some ways. He talks as if he's some sort of outsider looking in and unable to control the training. Remarkable

“I feel tackling is a technique,” he said. “You look at a training ground 20 years ago and today. There are two main differences - tackling disappearance and quality of the heading disappearing.
“If you take the number of good headers in every team 25 years ago and compare them to today, there is no comparison. I’ve seen training sessions 20 to 25 years ago where you had to lift the ball to train. You could not play on the ground.
"Today, every training ground is immaculate. What’s happening? You have no tackling and no heading."
Arsene my old chum.....I'm sure you can still watching heading and tackling at some training grounds
