THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

But that was Wenger putting him on the wing wasnt it? If Wenger was the Monaco manager :D

I thought in his youth ( pre-Wenger / Monaco ) that Henry was a striker, like when he was at that Clairefontaine (sp?) place? But if I am wrong then fair enough !

You are stretching "tenuous" to breaking point there, mate!  He was at Clairefontaine academy from 13 - 16 years of age.
I rest my case! :D :D 8)

Hearing that the Welsh Messi is back. :suicide:

At least the annoying akb braindead clusterfucks will crawl back into their tombs when their cult leader fuck up the bit of team balance he lucked into.

Wenger (and Henry) tells it that he was bought (initially to partner) but then as a direct replacement for Anelka. He had made only a handful of striker appearances for Juve. He was a winger there. Wenger saw the potential striker in him and converted him to the role. Let's not re-write history because we all don't want Wenger at The Arsenal anymore, mate!
not at all mate, doing the opposite and filling in some people on what happened 8)

I saw an interview with AW some years ago, in which he said his original plan was to play TH14 and Overmars out wide with Anelka as the striker, but then Le Sulk decided he wanted to go to Madrid.

And that's the problem. He got it right with Henry (by genius or luck, who knows) and he has since thought he can't get it wrong... :|

His shit-players-signed list is as "good" a read as Fergie's. :|
